Bio

The Way are an Irish band from Meath and Dublin, but they don't have to be. They could be from anywhere there's nothing going on." More important is that between them (David Greene; blues harp/vocals; Jimi Brennan; bass; Alan Byrne; drums and Brendan Savage;Guitar) they make the sort of coruscating, primal rock'n'roll noise you'd started to believe wasn't possible from a young Irish blues rock group in 2006.

The Way have a depth of musical knowledge which shows in the song 'Confessions to the Night', some inspired song writing lifts the material well above the norm. It's a song which puts a man intoxicated both physically and mentally with guilt over the killing of his lover 'I walk around to get my feelings right, I've drank to much my eyes have lost their sight and now the guilt is tearing me apart, I need to talk about this blood on my hands, I strangled you with a kiss'

It's clear from the music where the band gets their inspiration from and it's also quite nice to hear some blues harmonica. However in a predominately indie rock scene where blues is wrapped up in clichs in the mainstream market, seeking a platform, from where to set sail may prove to be difficult hailing from Ireland. However they are without doubt an exciting blues rock band and definitely worth a listen.
