Bio

The story of our group begins, well – accidentally and illegally. I (the guitar player and singer/songwriter) just happened to mention in passing to a girl I work with that I played guitar and she lit up with excitement and told me how she used to play the cello and wanted to get back into playing again. So we decided to get together and start playing just the two us. However, neither of us had space to play so we ended up having to “breaking in” to the practice rooms at a local university in order to be able to play. As we worked on songs over the long winter months we started to realize that we really had something unique sounding. Then one day we decided to just to go for it and see if we could form a band of other musicians looking to create a special and unique sound. So began our quest, we slowly added pieces, constantly roaming the classifieds looking for musicians who would be the best fit - a violinist, an upright bassist, and finally a drummer. The full band finally came together in the loft of our drummer’s house on a hot and humid night in Alexandria, VA. The cellist and I’s project had turned into something substantial, as we looked around we were even surprised that we were able to find a group of such high caliber musicians, everyone was very knowledgeable about their instruments and they all had a deep love of music. The result is a sound heavily rooted in indie/folk, sometimes heavy and dramatic; other times upbeat and complex, but always full of heart.
