Bio

Regional Winners for Radiostar's National Song Writing Competition for their song "The Manhattan Project (Part 1)"
-Followed by a showcase at Canadian Music Fest 2013!

This story begins in 2008, in a dark and gloomy pub in uptown Saint John, New Brunswick. Eric Muir was sitting at the bar when he met Edward Dow, a friend of a friend, and they began talking music. The two decided to perform that night, and snuck into the pub's back room to "rehearse." They quickly discovered they had a real musical connection.
Eric and Eddy began practicing in Eddy's garage, much to the neighbor's displeasure. The inside of the garage was covered in scribbles and paintings by Eddy's father, which he called "The Wayouts". One day his father said that if they called themselves The Wayouts, they would become famous and so The Wayouts were born.
A few tryouts, members, friendships and 2 home recorded albums later, The Wayouts were made up of Eric Muir (rhythm guitar, synth and vocals), Eddy Dow (drums), Ryan Gosson (bass, backup vocals) and Justin Burns (lead guitar, backup vocals). The guys come from a varied background of musical talent and taste; from rock and blues, to electronic, to roots reggae and ska. Their greatest influences inspire them to create a unique sound which always keeps the listener on their toes. If Radiohead, Broken Social Scene, Queens of the Stone Age, Toots and the Maytals and Daft Punk had an illegitimate love child, it would be The Wayouts.

With no place to truly practice in peace, the band bounced around from jam space to jam space. They spent an entire year playing whatever gigs they could find; pubs, dives, festivals, pool halls, street corners, teen resource centers and even house parties; seizing every opportunity to get their name out there and earn some cash to put towards their music. They saved every penny and put it towards recording their first single, The Manhattan Project.

The Wayouts are dedicated, hardworking underdogs that are chasing their day in the sun. They don't care about money or fame, their only aspiration is to be in your ear phones. Sink or swim, these guys will be making music, revolutionizing and perfecting their sound until they're old and gray.
