The Wayward Hearts

The Wayward Hearts are a bluesy-folk-rock & roll-country band from Vancouver, B.C. Formed in the summer of 2013, the Wayward Hearts was originally meant to be a side project for Bradley Damsgaard and Sarah Irwin to sing beautiful little country songs together. (Which you can see on the videos posted on YouTube)  This soon turned into a full six piece band adding Scott Paulley on Bass, Jim Favaro on electric accordion, Kirk Douglas on drums and Emily Heldson on violin which is now the full sound you can hear on their newly released EP.

Set to record a full length album in the summer of 2014, The Wayward Hearts are inspired by fine hats, Old Testament exuberance, Gothic Americana, Alphonse Mucha, tambourines, mountain music, worn-out boots, dustiness, cheap whiskey, causing a ruckus and telling a good story about it. 
Some of their influences are Junior Kimbrough, John Lee Hooker, 16 Horsepower, Wovenhand, Neil Young, Nick Cave, Gram Parsons, The Rolling Stones, Tom Waits, and Lucinda Williams.

When not performing or practising, the members of The Wayward Hearts can be found working on movie sets or in a recording studio, heading a social media team, being an awesome father and/or husband, or giving Holistic Nutrition consultations.

As a group, The Wayward Hearts are new to the scene, but as individuals, some members have been performing solo or with other bands from seven to twenty years, countless tours across many provinces, states and even Europe.
