Biography

"music with flesh and breath and passion",
Ricardo Robinson
The Weathered Road is an on-going, constantly evolving, project by Christopher Bell, Stephen Geruschat, and Derek Korte. The name symbolizes the rite of passage when an artist chooses their path. Their music blends the genres of singer-songwriter, folk, traditional, celtic, and newgrass to create a sound all their own. They have been likened to Rusted Root, CSN, Ray Lamontagne, and The Dave Matthews Band. What distinguishes them is their ability to transcend genres and create a sound all their own. Their sound is centered around two voices and the depth that those two voices create is instantly warm and welcoming. Each song moves the audience by drawing from the human experience and making it tangible through song. When the mood changes the music changes.

Intentions

Written By: Christopher Bell

Dreams in my mind, Feeling so confined
Words go unspoken, and thoughts become broken
Intention stay dormont, behind these anxious eyes
How can I justify, the beauty I see inside

Im starting to recognize, what is real is not always what we find,
Stifled by my open mind,
While the doors keep closing from behind,
When will these cyclical events,
Ever come to an end

So tired of misinterpreted intentions,
They're so senseless
This is the only way that I know to be
If you knew my soul, you would not be so defensive
You would face this
all I want is for you, to be free
With Me

I drink for this cup you left,
hoping I might taste your lips,
You are the mirror image, of what my soul is trying to express,
im curious but with innocence, neving losing reverence,
Are you feeling anything,
or is this happenstance

Snow is falling down outside, but the sun is shining in the sky
It seems ironic should I, just call it coincidence
Either way I know that I, feel something that I know is right,
Something in me deep inside that just wants you to try.

So tired of misinterpreted intentions,
They're so senseless
This is the only way that I know to be
If you knew my soul, you would not be so defensive
You would face this
all I want is for you, to be free
With Me

Dreams in my mind,
Feeling so defined.

The Wind May Blow

Written By: Elizabeth Eddy

You came to my door at half past three,
You were holding a ring to give to me
Won't you come in for a little while,
With you I will walk that long, long, mile.

We bought a house in a tiny town
Where we played a fiddle and square danced around
We'll plant a garden and can the corn in a jar
keep our money in our pockets 'stead of filling up the car.

As long as the wind may blow
The sun will shine on clear down this road,
As long as the wind may blow,
You'll be beside me forever I know

Well I bake in the winter do the cleaning in the spring,
summer brings us love and sitting in the swing
when fall rolls around there is a harvest to be done,
How the years have passed since we used to be young.

Sitting in the rocking chair as the sun sinks low,
Hear our songs playing on that radio show,
Holding hands with the one I love
I close my eyes to the stars up above

As long as the wind has blown,
The sun will shine claer down this road,
As long as the wind may blow,
You've been beside me forever I know.

You came to my door at half past three,
You held a ring to give to me.

Resolution

Written By: Christopher Bell

Deep in the hills of our lives,
We journey through these troubled times
The less we strive the more we stray,
The more we thrive the less we pray.

We can create what's in our minds
But the more we seek the less we'll find
There is a way to find the truth,
Lost in the innocence of youth.

Let's understand what makes us free,
We have to stand up and believe,
Nothing of worth comes easily,
Why can't we embrace the thought of peace?

There is a resolution
An answer to our questions
We will not be divided
Or we will never know
How far we could have gone

We have a chance to make a choice
Let's choose a universal voice
We will create what's in our minds
And then the truth we'll truly find.
