Pocketful of Change

Written By: Diane Garisto © 2007

I don’t smoke, do drugs, or take to the bottle
I have enough sense to come out of the rain.
I was all day in the subway, just trying to get warm there
And searching for a pocketful of change.

There are stars on the sidewalk, I know cause I live there
Or is it broken glass?
I guess you think I’m strange
All I know is I lay my hat and my home there
While searchin’ for a pocketful of change

Pocketful of change, it eases the hunger
Pocketful of change, it feels so good
Pocketful of change
What you don’t know is
I’d change my life if I could

Well, don’t ask me how it started
It all came on me slowly
I once was a fresh child
Now I’m a man with no name
Well, your talk to me is cheap
But a nickel or dime will make you holy
All I’m searchin’ for is a pocketful of change

Pocketful of change, it eases the hunger
Pocketful of change, it feels so good
Pocketful of change
What you don’t know is
I’d change my life,
Change my life,
Change my life
If I could, if I could

Angel

Written By: Martha Trachtenberg, Tom Griffith © 2005

In my shadow there stands an angel
It’s been with me my whole life long
I know he waits in the darkness
Like the sun waits for the dawn

As a child I saw him clearly
I grew older he started to fade
When I cried out “Why are you leaving?”
He said you are the one who turned away

Angel, is it time to go home?
Angel, I can see you now
I can see

You have been my faithful companion
Now the day is turning into the night
Should I follow you into the shadow?
Will you lead me into the light?

Angel, is it time to go home?
Angel, I can see you now
I can see

It's Gonna Change Me

Written By: Tom Griffith © 2005

The wind is blowin’ through my front door
I hear the call of the road once more
It’s a call I can’t ignore
It’s gonna change me

There is a mountain for me to climb
I don’t know why, I guess it’s time
I don’t know what’s on the other side
But it’s gonna change me

It’s gonna change me
It’s gonna change me
I don’t know what’s on the other side
But it’s gonna change me

Not runnin’ from, Not runnin’ to
Just doin’ what I have to do
But this time I’ve got you
And it’s gonna change me

I said it’s gonna change me
It’s gonna change me
Cause this time I’ve got you
And it’s gonna change me

I said it’s gonna change me
It’s gonna change me
I’ve got your love to see me through
And it’s gonna change me
