Biography

THE WELL-INFORMED

At the heart of The Well-Informed’s music lies an honesty that harkens back to the golden days of pop. With nods to mid-60’s Beatles and Beach Boys and allusions to The Band and Harry Nilsson, The Well-Informed are Pop-Revivalists in the pure sense-- their music sounds like tomorrow and at once feels like the best kind of yesterday.

In a nutshell, Evan Duby and Paul Loren--the group’s two lead singers and songwriters--sing songs that will move you.

Formed in 2010, this Brooklyn outfit has been creating a local stir with their whirlwind ‘busking tour’ of street corners and farmers' markets. Along
the way, the band was invited to close the well-attended DUMBO Arts Festival for two consecutive years, and continues to supplement its outdoor acoustic efforts with regular electric sets at city venues like the Living Room and Rockwood Music Hall.

Everybody Knows, the group’s debut LP, was released on Five & Dime Records in June of 2013. Recorded and mixed to tape in their own Brooklyn studio, the record is a bold example of the band’s timeless songwriting and love of analog sounds.
It features a collection of collaborators from bands like Yellowbirds, The Poison Tree and Dear Georgiana, and is a showcase for what Mr. Duby and Mr. Loren call “Cuban Missile Make-Out Music.”

With a busy touring schedule throughout 2013 and 2014, The Well-Informed are eager to propel their pop-revivalist sound far beyond the cobbled streets of brownstone Brooklyn.
