'Move On . . . is a hauntingly beautiful piece of music' - www.cubikmusik.com
'Refined sounds and synth-pop experiments with quiet female vocals descend into a whirlpool of electronics. "Move"'s joy for abstraction and catchy, romantic electro-pop will glimmer on any dance floor.' - www.download.com
We’re going to make a prediction: Operator will be one of the best new bands in Austin over the next year. Not only does the group bring a sound that is totally unique to the Austin scene (a feat in-and-of itself), they’re also hitting on an emerging revival of airy, synth-driven beats that simultaneously rocks and mesmerizes. Like Ladytron or Stereolab, the breathy female vocals add a beautifully gossamer layer to the electronic pulses that carry any number of impressive turns. Add to that enough guitar and beat to hold it all together and Operator has somehow concocted a spectacular Euro-pop sound in the heart of Texas.
The group has played only two shows thus far in their young career, but the fact that those shows were at the Mohawk and Emo’s speaks to the level attention that they are already attracting around town. As might be expected, the live performance still needs some honing (more energy on stage, more self-assurance in the intoxicating lead vocals), but it’s clear that Operator is on to something special and shouldn’t be missed. - Austinsound.net
You know the feeling you get when you go through periods of time where all the new music you hear is just sort of lukewarm, and then one day you hear a new band that cuts right through all of the crap and breathes a swift gust of fresh air into the whole situation? Well, I am very familiar with the feeling as I am riding high after listening to a demo from the Austin-based band who call themselves Operator.
Having just formed this year and with only two gigs under their belt so far, they are literally brand new on the scene. Operator create a lucious and unique blend of synth-pop, layered with equal parts of dance-worthy electronic beats and rythmic guitar strums, all held together beautifully with understated-yet intoxicating lead vocals. They may still have a few things to perfect with their sound and their live performance, but Operator are off to a pretty damn good start, and I predict bright lights in their future.

Bio
Equal parts synth-pop and indie rock with a dash of glam, The White Hotel makes music that's extremely foreign yet instantly appealing. Arrangements consisting of whirling electronics and taut guitar are structured around an inextricable combination of bass and drums, the entire sound cooled by smooth vocals. Simple melodies arranged in complex layers drift apart only to recombine in anthemic moments that sparkle with emotional depth and humanity.
