"Record Of The Day"

With one of the most accomplished and direct debut singles we’ve heard in a long time, let us introduce you to The Wholls. In an industry where authenticity is king these days, the former schoolmates have been honing their music for three years now, having been quietly supported along the way by BBC Introducing in the regions. A recent gig for NME at The Monarch in Camden was heaving and has led to further live interest for the boys, both here in the UK and internationally. They next play in London at Phonox in Brixton on October 21 and at The Barfly on October 23. With local radio plays building, TV sport syncs in place and a debut album being prepared for release next May, the sound they create has the potential to push them to great heights right across the world. Anthemic, radio-friendly, tightly produced and packing a sucker punch of a chorus, it seems like rumours of the demise of great British guitar music have been greatly exaggerated. You’ve all just been pinning your hopes on the wrong wishy-washy bands. The Wholls prove it’s time to recalibrate. - Record Of The Day

"Gigslutz Track Of The Day"

Bio

This rule-breaking band began their career by sneaking into their labels grounds and setting up a full PA without invitation. It was clear these guys were never going to go unheard.

The Wholls kicked off 2016 in a truly enormous fashion championed by Channel 4’s TV show Future Sounds, BT Music, Record of the Day (an unprecedented 4 features) Radio 1 playlist, strong support from BBC Introducing, a UK tour for taste-maker brand ‘This Feeling’ and the festival calendar continues to grow. They played 3 stages at The Great Escape, 2 at Dot 2 Dot and attracted camera crews from all over the world on the Cavern Stage at Liverpool Sound City. A standout performance at the Isle of Wight on the Jack Daniels stage immediately saw European stages being offered - the Wholls are playing at Headcrash for SESAC at this years’ Reeperbahn Festival in Germany in September and are in talks for more overseas performances in 2017.

Their energetic & edgy live performances are fast garnering them a reputation as electrifying. Their live shows make punk rock look like a picnic - performed with an enthusiasm and energy rivaled by nobody. Having played the BBC Introducing stages at Reading and Leeds and the BBC Introducing stage at Wilkestock Festival the following weekend, the excitement within Radio 1 for the forthcoming EP and singles from this breaking band continues to grow.

Their TV profile is building week on week with their track ‘Roll Out’ being used by: ITV, BBC, Channel 4, Sky Sports and BT Sports as sound beds for EURO 16 and F1 and overseas (U.S.) the song has just been chosen as the main theme by ESPN for a forthcoming broadcast which will run every Monday for 16 weeks. The band fly out to Naples in September to film a pilot TV show for a major soft drinks brand and have also been confirmed to feature on a new E4 reality TV show.

There is a reason everybody is talking about this band – The Wholls (Wolz) are quite simply a hard-working bunch of mates with bags of charisma, hook-laden songs, boundless energy and their sights firmly set on the stadiums.
