Bio

Nate formed The Whoopsie Daisies with the ultimate goal of not making any money and achieving only negative success. Band practice was optional; beer swilling mandatory. Our first album, “Flipper Baby Disco” (1996) was roundly unheard by critics and panned by girlfriends and sober people. populated with songs such as “Drunken Marmots”, we explored groundbreaking leitmotifs of portable toilets, public urination and amateur stunt driving.

After an eight-year hiatus, we reassembled to the intense dismay of our spouses and the extinction of neighborhood tranquility. Our resulting sophomore album, “Lemming Society” (2007) captured an apocalyptic journey into melancholy noise transgressions: “Dirty Website,” “Gastric Bludgeon,” “Safety Word Bingo,” emanated through insulated walls to be greeted by unappreciative passersby.

In the winter of 2009 Anngelique Bowen joined the band, who plays a mean set of drums and is far better than we deserve (at least better than the same drum machine beat we beat to death prior to obtaining her). With the newly acquired credibility, we've assembled some marquee songs including: "You Can't Sell Out If You Can't Sell Anything," "Faux Cadillac," "Plastic Machine," "Sick Sad World (and I like it)," "Off the Chain," "Useless Stuff," "Junk-Punch Ninja," and "The Throbbing Continuum of Dirge." Band practice is now mandatory every week, along with the beer swilling.

This summer we completed our first live EP, In Dirtero, with the assistance of Ryan Hadlock the consumate professional from Bear Creek Studios. The full EP was played live at the first annual Playing For Crowe Festival.

We are influenced by Cracker, Toadies, Pixies, The Mono Men, Dead Moon, Gas Huffer, The Supersuckers, Love Battery, Screaming Trees, Tad to name a few...
