Bio
The Wildflowerz grew from a studio project by Mark Allison. He spent two years on and off with top Inverness based producer Terry Small writing and recording material. In June 2008, he started gathering together musicians to perform at a one-off charity gig at the Ironworks in Inverness. Soon after, original singer Sarah Mackay and original bassist Lukasz Szczepanik left to pursue other musical projects abroad. 2009 was spent regrouping and writing with new singer Helena Stewart joining towards the end of the year, followed by a temporary change in direction to an acoustic sound.
In 2010, bassist Joe Macrae joined in time to tour Scotland supporting Nik Kershaw on his acoustic tour. After playing various small gigs around the local area including support to a former Bay City Roller, the band started to rehearse for electric shows once more. In August, Helena departed the band which was followed by a brief hiatus until Sarah rejoined in October.
