"revels in dreamy, hypnotic music" Steve Morse, The Boston Globe

Biography

the wild sea is a new brand new band out of Boston formed of the core members of amusia and ruth. The trio is now joined by Phil Aiken-touring keyboardist for Buffalo Tom/Bill Janovitz/Lemonheads, Matt Tahaney bassist of Bill Janovitz Crown Victoria, and Frank Moratta Jr guitarist of Ann Heaton.

Nashville's Ruth Peterson and brothers Matt & Todd Russell have been bringing their own sound to the Boston Pop scene since 2000, sharing the stage with acts Buffalo Tom, Kay Hanley (Letters to Cleo), Will Dailey, and Loveless, to name a few. The wild sea is currently recording a new release for Fall 2008.

In 2005, Amusia released 'Way Back Down', produced by Matt Russell, mixed by Matt Russell and Tom Polce (CBS Records). Though the album was released under the band name Amusia, it was the catalyst for the name change to RUTH as for the first time the focus came entirely from Ruth, Matt, and Todd. In late 2006 RUTH began recording a new CD "On Every Road."

2007 had a rough beginning as singer Ruth was diagnosed with cancer. After undergoing major surgery and 7 months of chemo treatments she is is excited to be singing again. The band is currently recording a new release for Fall 2009.

Lyrics

Stay (Save Me)

Written By: Ruth Peterson

in the blink of an eye
in the moments passing by
where were you, what were you thinking?
i had no choice, already leaving
and it's late, is it too late?

Stay with me, you might save me.
Runaway, don't runaway anymore

Feels like i'm waiting
and my breath is only slight
how could you, how could you not know
how i could i let you go so soon
and it's late, is it too late?

Stay with me, you might save me.
Runaway, don't runaway anymore

thief

Written By: ruth peterson

the thief will carry you away
it's ok

Sunlight pattern on your back,
rarely do you notice.
in the middle of the day
funny how you start to miss the feeling
long before it's gone away.

the thief will carry you away
it's ok
