"GlasgowMusic, Music Blog"

This new single (Firelight) creates perfection through music; without any complications or badly placed accented vocals, ‘Firelight’ is definitely a big achievement that the band can tuck under their belt. - GlasgowMusic, Music Blog

"Jim Gellatly, Radio Magnetic"

Pretty darn special.. So many amazing new rock bands emerging from this little nation of ours right now and that is a fine example. - Jim Gellatly, Radio Magnetic

"Dead Earnest, Scottish Music Blog"

One absolute pearler of a lead track that mixes the whole nine yards of power, punch, dynamics, warmth and expansion on three minutes that pass all too quickly. - Dead Earnest, Scottish Music Blog

"The Scotsman, Under the Radar"

Big swooping indie always has a place on the UTR stereo and The Winter Tradition are quickly becoming regulars on our shamefully beat-up tape deck. Both anthemic and ananthemic, the Glasgow/Edinburgh ensemble produce effervescent, guitar driven totems, tinged with sleak college rock production. - The Scotsman, Under the Radar

"Vic Galloway, BBC Scotland"

I'm loving your stuff! Tight as hell! - Vic Galloway, BBC Scotland

Bio

“Woolly jumpers, catchy choruses and the tightest live show around. What is there not to like about The Winter Tradition?”

The Winter Tradition’s atmospheric brand of alternative indie rock is capable of filling any arena in the land and will leave you feeling like you must experience it before they outgrow the local venues they’ve been gracing since the release of their long play debut – Gradients (July 2012).

With previous opening slots for Hundred Reasons, Enter Shikari, The Xcerts, Nine Black Alps and The Boxer Rebellion, as well as sold out shows across the UK under their belt, 2014 promises to be the best year to date for the band. The Winter Tradition kicked off the year by releasing their new single 'Departures' on the 10th of February, which was accompanied by a headline UK tour. The band are currently recording a follow up to ‘Gradients’ and hope to release new material later in the year.
