Bio

WIRED ERA is Nick and Steve Winiarski

Sound: "Wired Era is an experience for those who want to engage the music, there is a message and the songs are crafted down to the beat, it's more than simply a push play and drift off band." "WE" love to create this aforementioned "active" listening experience - the vocals hurrying between a gritty classic rock delivery and a smooth Sheeran / Mayer songwriter sensitivity, constant melodic guitar hooks, full storyboard lyrics, builds and drops. The bridges are not breaks, they only get more intense, more involved. Break-up Track "So Sweet" is the perfect example- half time classic drums and a steady guitar groove in the verses that build with more intense vocals and electric guitar riffage throughout- leading to a double time chorus that explodes with energy and twin harmonies- leading up to a multi-layered bridge with delayed-out overdriven guitar and overlapping vocals. Each WE song is a journey and though you can stream it in the background, you'll soon feel the catchy "earworms" getting stuck in your head. We love hearing people saying that the catchy hooks "haunt" them all day, and they hear it A LOT.

Debut release "We Exist" was recorded at friend Anthony Bilancia's home studio over the course of the Fall & Winter of 2014. Much of it is a blend of both of first love and break-up songs... given that the process of working up to recording took years, listeners will clearly feel the change in outlook and attitude. High Energy, riffed-out rock ballads like Livewire scream of getting up out of the dirt and reaching for the stars. Country-Folk inspired acoustic guitar picking tracks like My Command are thrown over old school punk drums telling a vivid, twisted love story. Instinct's funky jazzed up verses undergo a head-banging transition into a sexy, disco inspired BeeGees-esque chorus. An unlikely pump-up song touching on "Carpe Diem" and passionate evenings.

WE's sound both accepts and rejects the "electronic age" of music, with one foot in and one foot out of the door. There are sparse but fulfilling synth arrangements, haunting organs in just the right spots, doubled vocals & a bit of studio magic in the background, but the vocals, acoustic and electric guitars define the sound and convey the raw emotion with the human component the band lives and thrives on.

The resulting sound is like NYC itself, a messy hybrid of acoustic duo folk, classic guitar rock, modern heartfelt pop rock, danceable disco beats. A truly modern rock band.

Background:

After seeing a VH1 storytellers special with Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds performing as an acoustic duo on Youtube, a passive hobby became an undeniable passion. From that point on, they decided to become a band and develop their talent. Nicks love for syncopated guitar playing, dueling riffs and catchy melodies ease subliminally into the background of the emotive vocals, just until the chance to rock out a solo is presented. Steve was always a writer at heart, and his aggressive delivery proves he has something to say, a story to tell. His unique fingerpicking technique and ability to lay a solid groundwork for full rock songs on his acoustic was present from Day 1. They hope to perform in such a way that the audience will witness not only one sound but one soul, like the great duos of all time, many of whom they admire and look up to... The Gallagher brothers, Lennon and McCarntney, Beegees, Crosby Stills and Nash and of course, Jagger and Richards.

For the live show, they recently brought on experienced drummer Ken Schecter, and bassist Jason Dowd. This solid rhythm section completes the 4-piece, allowing Wired Era to put on a classic rock show.

Album: We Exist, a 6 song EP that has been well received and dubbed "professional" by those who have heard it so far. The release helped to sell out the Bowery Electric in July 2015.

The songs from We Exist span years- they wanted to wait until their talents were developed to do a "real" record. 6 were chosen out of a large catalog of material. The lyrics speak of failed relationships, reaching for the stars, broken things and young love. The album, like their lives, is defined by a wavering optimism, road blocks and struggles but never throwing up the white flag. Staying true to themselves no matter what is going on in the industry and dominating pop radio.

"More than just two guys in a room playing guitar and singing" - The twins have that "I don't know what" about them, they will be something special like the great bands of all time.
