The Woodpile

The Woodpile is a place, and although the physical pile has been gone for some time, the location remains unforgettable in the brain of Radiation Rick. It's in this space that many meanings of Ricks' life experiences are clearest, from the mundane to the metaphysical. The resulting music reflects these sentiments, often times through metaphors. Much like Jim James and Josh Homme, Rick has complemented the sounds restlessly bouncing around the inside of his dome with a stellar supporting cast. Future classic rock best explains The Woodpile sound, but not in the sense that the songs are reminiscent of rock music’s earliest period. Instead, future classic describes the timelessness of the music these five young Americans create.
