Bio
The Workers ultimately started in the dank basements of Columbus, Ohio. They are now based in beautiful Missoula, Montana. The Workers play a unique blend of roots music. Their repertoire consists of original music complimented with covers that have been recreated and infused with the band's unique style. The Workers are fronted by Trent Atkins (formerly of the Doc Lykens Band of Eugene, OR) and Scott Hohnstein (formerly of Shiv, King Xogg as well as Boot Lohre and the Decembers of Columbus, OH). Trent and Scott originally performed as a singer/songwriter duo. In 2008 bassist Bob Finnegan and drummer Sid Kaste joined. Since then, The Workers have maintained a steady schedule. They have developed a regional reputation in the Rocky Mountain West. The Workers have shared venues with variety of musicians and bands including Karl Denson, Taylor Hicks, Sam Holt, and The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. They have played major venues from the Oregon Coast to Denver, CO. As highlighted by the Missoula Independent, "The Workers can get a barroom dancing anywhere in America." The Workers are a four piece band that is hard to categorize. Often called bluegrass, The Workers are influenced by many genres and play shows that are hard-driving and free of set-lists. The Workers also have two albums “Call to Order” and “Down the Mountain.” These albums have been well received by concert-goers and reviewers.
