"Top 100 Women of 2017"

It’s International Women’s Day, and in honor of that we are celebrating the tons of inspiring and badass women in the rock and alternative world. In the past, when AP has published pieces about the necessity of women’s voices, we have found our comment sections full of passionate voices telling us to “just go make a sandwich” that there simply “aren’t a lot of women in bands.” So here is a list of more than 100 bands that feature women. By no means is this an exhaustive list, merely an effort to make the point that whether it’s in stadiums or dirty basements, there are many talented and amazing women making their mark in alternative music. - Alternative Press

"Exclusive Lyric Video Premiere: The World Over – “Mountains”"

If you’re a fan of PVRIS, Issues, Bring Me The Horizon, and/or TesseracT, get ready to fall madly in love with The World Over (T.W.O.). This Los Angeles alt-rock screamo band is led by front-woman Tiaday Ball, granddaughter of Ernie Ball (creator of Slinky Strings and Music Man guitars). Founders of T.W.O. include Xavier Moreux, Tiaday Ball, Ryan Knecht, Anthony Dellaripa, and Eric Gledhill. They all came together making music that “could represent many different cultures and promote messages of hope and empowerment”.

Aside from collaborating with former Escape the Fate guitarist, Omar Espinosa on their 2014 release, “Rampart District“, T.W.O. has performed at world famous venues including Whisky A Go Go, The Viper Room, House Of Blues. They’ve also played alongside acts like Attila, As Blood Runs Black, Meytal Cohen, and The Browning. Their latest EP “Mountains” was released last month and is available for purchase on iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play.

According to their website, T.W.O. is breaking the “boundaries of rock music” with the new album, which is allowing the band to reach a “much broader spectrum of listeners with their new sound, but still reflecting on their roots in post-hardcore.” - Tattoo.com

Bio

The World Over, is led by frontwoman Tiaday Ball, granddaughter of Ernie Ball (world renowned creator of Music Man guitars and Slinky Strings) and is comprised of guitarist Ryan Knecht, drummer Alex Mercado and bassist Juan Arguello. Forming in 2014, the band released Rampart District, produced by Omar Espinosa (Escape The Fate), which gained significant praise from fans and led them to record and release their second EP, Mountains with Siegfried Meier (Kitty, DMX), in 2016. The band hit the road in support of their EP and joined Otep’s “Resistance” tour in March 2017, which garnered the attention of Alternative Press 7 times, naming Tiaday as one of the Top 100 Women in Music in 2017. Stemming off the success of Mountains, comes Ventifact, an acoustic rendition of it’s predecessor EP that represents another dimension of the bands ability to pump out sonically interesting and genre bending songs. Fresh off of the final Warped Tour and their own “Afterparty Tour”, they’re putting their creative energy back into the studio for the band’s first full length album. Stay up to date with their music available on all music streaming platforms.

The World Over is proud to be endorsed by the following companies: Ernie Ball, Sterling by Musicman Guitars, Slinky Guitar Strings, Ghost Circus Apparel, Of Gods Apparel, SKB Cases, 64 Audio, Drumtacs, Ahead Drumsticks and Accessories.
