"Westword EP Review"

"One of a band's biggest challenges is finding its own sound, and the World Romantic has done it ...the first cut, "Pop Culture," is distinctive: Lead singer James Dzuris caresses fragile lines like "Leave me here with these bruises" in a glass-menagerie tenor as keyboards, guitars, strings and the rhythm section of bassist Trevor Noel and brother Joe Dzuris on drums provides a luxuriantly sentimental backdrop." ~ Westword - Westword

"The Onion A.V. Club Feature"

"Denver band The World Romantic is something of an anomaly: With its irony-free moniker and vast, sweeping melodies, the band offers an epic reinterpretation of the traditional love song, employing classical piano lines and the sort of production values usually associated with stadium acts." ~ The Onion - The Onion

"Boulder Theater Show Review"

"Having never heard of The World Romantic before, I had absolutely no idea what to expect. By the second song, I had been completely floored by the effortlessly powerful vocals of James Dzuris and the band's gritty sound. With stage presence far beyond his years, Dzuris' soaring high notes alone were enough to make me weak at the knees. When paired with the infectious beats of brother Joseph Dzuris, the bass of Trevor Noel and Jackson Giles' guitar work, The World Romantic's unique and invigorating sound gripped like a vice. Pick up their One Hundred Million Lights EP, and you will play it for days." ~ DU Clarion - DU Clarion

"Movers and Shakers 2008"

"Sure, doe-eyed, melodic, lush, piano-laced rock has been done to death in recent years, even by some notable Denver bands, but this quartet dives in as if it's all brand-new and surfaces with a fresh and sincere take on the genre. James Dzuris's irresistible honey-and-heroin vocals will wear away your resistance." ~ Westword - Westword

Hello. The World Romantic has been steadily rising up the local Denver ranks, as well as earning opening slots for heavyweight groups from OneRepublic to Minus The Bear, having been hand picked by OneRepublic to open their show in Colorado in July 2008. Settling into the Denver scene with a background studying classical music and the violin, James Dzuris along with brother Joseph, started refining their musical ideas and playing with different bands in an effort to breathe in a touch of the fever that their favorite groups were creating. Currently set with bassist Trevor Noel, their gaze is now focused on their own place in the lights. They are presently recording a second EP due for completion in early February, and are working hard to gain momentum following the self-release of their One Hundred Million Lights EP.
