"The Wrecking Partners to End Sex-Trafficing"

Gearing up for their first nationally-distributed CD in mid-July, Chosen/Executive/Universal Music band The Wrecking is filming a music video to coincide with the project's first radio single, "In Your Eyes," written by Peter Gabriel. The video will be produced in conjunction with Love 146, a non-profit organization dedicated to the abolition of child sex trafficking and exploitation.

"Love146 is delighted to be working with The Wrecking on the concept and production of their upcoming video," says Andrew Zsigmond, Artist Coalition Leader for Love146. "The Wrecking has long been an advocate for child survivors of sex-trafficking. Now, with the production of their video, the band and Love146 will portray a story of hope and joy at the restoration of these children. The band is a key player in the Love146 Artist Coalition, using their voices on behalf of the voiceless." The video will be filmed next month and released to coincide with the band's new CD titled, A New Abolition, set for release July 15.

The Wrecking is currently participating in the One Shot Tour, a multimedia outreach event featuring the band along with hip hop artist Bobby Bishop. Venues and cities for the tour continue to be added with upcoming stops to include the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia (home to 76ers), New Orleans, plus cities in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York, among other states. The One Shot Tour is a unique venture that features an exclusive docudrama directed by Jeffrey Kubach whose credits include the hit tv show Survivor as well as other reality shows and music videos. The film is seamlessly interspersed with live performances from The Wrecking and Bishop, and has been described by one spectator as "MTV, with Jesus at the center."

"Every show is an awesome labor of love for us," says The Wrecking lead vocalist and co-founder Doug Elder. "We have a constant desire to bring to God the most excellent offering we can, particularly in our performance and in our availability to connect with people and share the love of God on a personal level. It has been amazing to watch the response to the One Shot events, and we are privileged to be part of this unique experience."

The Wrecking's song "Inside" from A New Abolition will be featured on the Underground Sound Series set to release via EMI/CMG/Nuspring in late May. The series features 15 of the "hottest up-and-coming acts in Christian music today."

The Wrecking has already signed a licensing agreement with the MTV Network for the songs from A New Abolition to be placed on various shows and networks such as MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon, and Spike tv, among others.

In addition to partnering with Love 146, The Wrecking also works with International Justice Mission, a human rights agency that secures justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation, and other forms of violent oppression. Additionally, The Wrecking partners with Soulfest in Gilford, NH, the largest multi-day music festival of its kind in the Northeast, which attracts over 12,000 attendees annually.

Out of the heart of Maine comes Universal's latest signee, The Wrecking. These northern natives have already gained publicity through festivals across the nation, including Harvest Fest right here in Pennsylvania. The mission of this group is completely transparent through their music: to share the love of Jesus Christ and bring hope to the lost. A New Abolition only continues to help solidify this sole purpose and the band’s future success.

“Inside” kicks off as the debut opener, delivering a heartfelt cry for spiritual transformation. “Sights and Sounds” creates a soft rock tune with intricate lyrics and the realization of God’s presence in the midst of all the noise around us ("You’re all around, more real than sights and sounds"). "In Your Eyes," a cover of Peter Gabriel's popular 1986 song, contains catchy rhythms intertwined with harmonizing vocals, while “The Deep” continues the pattern of upbeat tracks and a simple yet relatable message.

“You Remain” depicts the omnipresent state of our Father in every phase and situation that occurs within our lives and the world. “Burn The Bridges” is definitely a unique track for A New Abolition, combining funk elements with a jazzy mood. “Breakthrough” takes the quality up a notch with a more aggressive feel both musically and vocally. “The Reel To Real” illustrates the paradox of spirituality and salvation, how we are all labeled as sinners yet are made righteous by the blood of Jesus Christ.

“The New Jerusalem” makes reference to Revelation 21, which speaks of the Rapture and how Christ will prepare a special place for all those who believe in Him. In addition, this song forewarns those who may be “spiritually sleeping” and urges them to ready themselves for Christ’s return (“The New Jerusalem is coming, someday, you gotta get up, pick your head up, and get yourself ready”). “March On” encourages people to rise up and take initiative, whereas “The Waiting” closes the album with Doug Elder’s melodic voice and added electronic mixings.

While The Wrecking may be considered reminiscent of bands such as Cross Culture and MuteMath, their music possesses a distinctive sound all their own. And while some may view this record as nothing groundbreaking and extraordinary, it sure gives this pop/rock quartet the jumpstart needed for acclamation and exposure.

"Pick of the Week - The Wrecking's 'A New Abolition'"

Pick of the Week - The Wrecking's 'A New Abolition'
Tuesday August 19, 2008

And for my second Pick of The Week ...

The Wrecking's national debut album, A New Abolition, releases today, and it's one you definitely don't want to miss.

The album runs the gamut from modern hook-driven rock ("The Deep") to powerful ballads ("You Remain") to some funky urban grooves ("March On"), all of it fresh and all of it good. That's why MTV networks licensed music from the album for use on MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon, and Spike TV.

The band is also dedicated to social issues. The single "Sights and Sounds" has been selected for use by ChildVoice International, and the video for their cover of the Peter Gabriel hit "In Your Eyes" was created in conjunction with Love 146, a non-profit organization dedicated to the abolition of child exploitation and sex trafficking.

At the heart of the band is the desire to share the love of Christ, whether it's at a church event or a club. The Wrecking spent the summer on the One Shot Tour with hip hop artist Bobby Bishop. The multimedia event featured a docudrama directed by Jeffrey Kubach, whose credits include CBS's hit reality show "Survivor," that has been described as "MTV with Jesus at the center." During the tour, more than 450 people made decisions to follow Christ.

The band is currently on tour and will join Ten Shekel Shirt this fall on the Art & Action tour. To learn more about The Wrecking, visit www.thewrecking.net. - Beliefnet

"The Wrecking's Track Chosen By ChildVoice Intl"

The Wrecking's Track Chosen By ChildVoice Intl

ChildVoice International will be using a song from The Wrecking for their "Voices Rising" campaign. The song "Sights & Sounds" is from the CD, A NEW ABOLITION, set for release August 19 from Universal Music.

ChildVoice International is a global Christian non-governmental organization (NGO) that restores the voices of children silenced by war by raising awareness, promoting research, and creating effective, sustainable interventions. ChildVoice works in war-torn countries with local NGOs to assist children of war, restoring the voices of children who have been silenced by the horrors they have experienced. The children served by ChildVoice International and partnering grassroots NGOs include former child soldiers, children orphaned by war, and those left destitute by rebel activity.

"ChildVoice is excited to join hands with The Wrecking to mobilize 'Voices Rising' in the U.S. against the use of child soldiers around the world," says Roger Proulx, Media Relations for ChildVoice. "The song 'Sights & Sounds' inspires the kind of transformation and healing that is needed for restoration to happen."

The Wrecking's first music video has just been released (view the video here: IN YOUR EYES VIDEO). A remake of the Peter Gabriel hit, the "In Your Eyes" video was directed by Jeff Kubach (tv series Survivor) and produced in conjunction with Love 146, a non-profit organization dedicated to the abolition of child sex trafficking and exploitation.

The Wrecking continues its One Shot Tour across the country as well as gearing up for tour dates with Jeremy Camp, Ten Shekel Shirt and EleventySeven this fall/winter. The Wrecking's One Shot Tour will be joined by popular author/speaker Josh McDowell in late August.

In addition to partnering with Love 146, The Wrecking also works with International Justice Mission, a human rights agency that secures justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression.

Commonly referred to as perfectionists in their obsessive pursuit of sonic excellence and explosive execution, The Wrecking has cultivated a truly unique sound that is readily accessible. By interlocking hook-driven rock with urban grooves and futuristic adventurism, The Wrecking has emerged from the East Coast music scene as a critically acclaimed powerhouse.

We truly respect what anyone believes and want to be sensitive to that, we just want to say, Hey, His love is beautiful and it sustains us".
