"As a debut album, it certainly serves to show The Wynnes are a musical force to be reckoned with."

Folk, Bluegrass and Country purists may have trouble reconciling this album – it doesn’t fit squarely into any particular musical niche – but the average listener should enjoy it if they give it a chance. As a debut album, it certainly serves to show The Wynnes are a musical force to be reckoned with. You can find their music here: http://thewynnes.ca

Have a listen if you would like to get back to your musical roots. Or just check them out if your roots need a little colouring. Either way, you may discover The Wynnes have a win on their hands.

"A great selection of well-written songs"

The Wynnes, Barb and Peter are a new PEI group and reside in Charlottetown. They have a long resume of solid songwriting and reputable musianship is worth noting. Peter has been playing with the ECMA nominated traditional group, Lazy Jacks and has been a chief contributor to the original music recorded on their 4 CD's. He was nominated for Traditional Singer of The Year at the 2009 Canadian Folk Music Awards. He has also performed with and composed music for the ECMA nominated jazz group, Stephane Bouchard and La funk 6.
This new CD is being produced by James Phillips (producer of Catherine MacLellan, Saddle River Band) and includes Gordie MacKeeman (Nudie and The Turks, Grass Mountain Hobos) on fiddle and James Phillips (Saddle River String Band, Slim Jim and the Brothers Grimm) on Mandolin. All vocals, guitar and bass were recorded live off the floor. The fiddle and mandolin were one take recordings put in after the original tracks. This is a high energy CD has sounds of bluegrass, western folk and East Coast tradition.

Here are the song titles;

I Hear Them All-Wayne-Down Roads

Best Dancer-It Takes Time-Freight Train

Hello-Methamphetamine-Wagon Wheel

Bulkey Valley Home

The Wynnes receive an honourable mention for the song, Wayne at the 17th annual Billboard World Song Contest. The track from the album has been included in the podcast at Celtic Roots Radio. The Wynnes were awarded a Discovery Stage Showcase at the 2011 East Coast Music Awards.

Atlantic Seabreeze comments that this CD has a great selection of well-written songs by popular songwriters and The Wynnes do great singing the songs and their singing style is one of a kind. This CD should do well for the group. Good ratings from Atlantic Seabreeze on its rating list. For further information regarding The Wynnes, check their website, address posted above.
