The You and I Band

You and I is made up of two dynamic musicians, Ashley Overa and Michael Malinowski. Despite his virtuosic abilities on the guitar and extensive classical training, Mike graduated from William Paterson University’s sound and engineering program. Ashley is currently studying voice performance and Music Management also at William Paterson University. Apart from their studies, both of these musicians have been performing in New Jersey for many years. They were brought together in 2010 and began performing as a duo in venues across New York and New Jersey. Soon they realized that their musical chemistry could be expanded through co-writing original material.

Although typically Ashley is seen as the lyricist and Mike the instrumentalist, both individuals do an equal part in the writing. Whether Ashley developed a chord progression and Mike a lyrical theme or the other way around, their writing only improved through the collaboration process.
With over ten songs meticulously written, Ashley and Mike acknowledged their collective desire to take these songs to the next level. They just released their single ‘Lady of Fortune’ which you can find on the home page. You can expect a five song EP to be released by the end of the month.
