Biography

They say what you want to hear.

They Say is a Canadian rock band with a disco pulse. Hatched under the scorching sun by Jon Broeska and Jay Smith during the Bonnaroo music festival, their mutual love of creating music led to obsessive writing and recording back home in Winnipeg.

The group is rounded off by Kurtis Wittmier, Jesse Ives, and Sean Gutheil. With collective musical backgrounds ranging from folk to punk, metal to funk, and far beyond, the music flirtatiously intertwines musical genres with every song while keeping their feet cemented in their core rock sound.

With meticulously crafted tunes, the band entered the live music scene in 2011 with a driving and energetic live show bringing audiences to their feet, nodding their heads, and strapping on their electric dancing shoes. They instantly received positive acclaim for their performances and catchy songs.

Taking a short break from the stage, the spring of 2012 was spent locked away with producer Tony Katsabanis at Empire Recording forging what would become their debut release, the 6 song EP "Disguises”, which was released September 2012.
