They Can't Break Us

Written By: Nic Kelly

I wrote this letter
With hopes it'd catch your eyes
One thing it doesn't say
It doesn't say goodbye

Like print on paper
These thoughts I can't deny
I won't give up
You're mine

So don't let them scare you
Just know they can't break you
From everything that you're feeling
Don't let them scare you
Just know they can't take you
From everything that you believe in
They don't know you quite like I claim to

It's been all winter
The air's so cold tonight
My breath is hanging thin
And swallowed by the sky

PS this letter's been reread many times
It doesn't say goodbye

So don't let them scare you
Just know they can't break you
From everything that you're feeling
Don't let them scare you
Just know they can't take you
From everything that you believe in
They don't know you quite like I claim to

Girl I'm not leaving without a kiss
Just give it up and let me taste your lips
This is how it should have been from the start
This is how it should have been from the start

Girl I'm not leaving without a kiss
Just give it up and let me taste your lips
This is how it should have been from the start
This is how it should have been from the start

Girl I'm not leaving without a kiss
Just give it up and let me taste your lips
This is how it should have been from the start
This is how it should have been from the start

Girl I'm not leaving without a kiss
Just give it up and let me taste your lips
This is how it should have been from the start
This is how it should have been from the start

So don't let them scare you
Just know they can't break you
From everything that you're feeling
Don't let them scare you
Just know they can't take you
From everything that you believe in
They don't know you quite like I claim to
So don't let them scare you
Just know they can't break you
From everything that you're feeling
Don't let them scare you
Just know they can't take you
From everything that you believe in
They don't know you quite like I claim to

Counting Stars

Written By: Nic Kelly

Throw away your big dark secrets now
We're all alone and no one else around
Or just sit here while I bleed

Board a bus in the city streets
You're all alone, you dug yourself too deep
This conversation doesn't mean a thing

Sleep off the pain tonight
Make yourself think everything's alright
Shake off the butterflies
Make yourself think everything's alright

Counting sheep as you sleep and dream the night away
Giving back every word you ever said to me
The countless times that we both knew
When you were down I was there for you
Counting stars thinking hard about you and I
Thoughts, regrets they go like this
I'd like to say goodbye to all of your stupid bullshit
I was into you but I'm not into this

You close the shutters and you shut the blinds
Lock yourself deep inside
One more drink to get you through the evening

You pick up the phone and you let yourself go
Saying exactly what you want me to know
Put it down with out a reason

Sleep off the pain tonight
Make yourself think everything's alright
Shake off the butterflies
Make yourself think everything's alright

Counting sheep as you sleep and dream the night away
Giving back every word you ever said to me
The countless times that we both knew
When you were down I was there for you
Counting stars thinking hard about you and I
Thoughts regrets they go like this
I'd like to say goodbye to all of your stupid bullshit
I was into you but I'm not into this

Waking Up

Written By: Nic Kelly

It's safe to say you've been away too long
What made you want to pack away your things and run
And get the fuck right out of here?

Was it the way that the weather changed?
The snow had piled up and left a bitter taste
Was it too cold for you my dear?

You couldn't take to quicker speeds
Chemicals would do but never leave you pleased
All you've to show is what you've done

I took her heart with her blackened pride
Picking up the pieces of what's left behind
All you've to show is not very much

I'm waking up on top of empty cans and broken plans
And I can't believe I did it again
I'm breaking up under yellow skies to my surprise
And I hope to Hell it never ends

Is there a secret that you want to tell
Are you gonna open up your throat and spill
All the things that you have done

Always a step, just a step behind
Pulling at the pieces of the butterflies
Tucked away out of the sun

I'm waking up on top of empty cans and broken plans
And I can't believe I did it again
I'm breaking up under yellow skies to my surprise
And I hope to Hell it never ends

I'm waking up on top of empty cans and broken plans
And I can't believe I did it again
I'm breaking up under yellow skies to my surprise
And I hope to Hell it never ends

I'm waking up on top of empty cans and broken plans
And I can't believe I did it again
I'm breaking up under yellow skies to my surprise
And I hope to Hell it never ends
