The Zapatistas

Blind Pig guitarist Darien McKinney was looking for a saxiphoneist to do a solo in a blind pig song. He came along Nick Pistoia. They got talking, turns out they were into the same exact music and had the same ambitions to be in a band. So Darien sat down behind the drums as Nick picked up a guitar instead of a sax, and they jamed, came up with about 5 songs, and decided that this might go somewhere. About 2 weeks after the first jam, they released their first demo with Dale Nixon on bass. Another two weeks later, tragity struck when Nixon died of spontanious combustion of the appendix. With a few bassists inbetween, they continued practice and writing new songs. Finally, Jesse Mathewson came into the picture on bass, and they continue to jam togeather.
