The Zumes!

Herald from the great musical prowess of Oxfordshire. We’re a Rock & Roll band creating our interpretation of British Rock music.
We are making songs that audibly have influences from the Brit-Pop era of the 90s but also have an edge of present day and where we believe it should be heading – with Fantana churning out guitar rhythms that stick in the memory, Higgins’s bass lines that only he can explain what he’s doing and O’Boyle’s lyrics accounting what life has been like growing up for us.

We always say our influences are ‘Broken Britain’, the binge-drinking culture that we have been so proudly a part of, being skint, being fed up of it all and wanting more. As much as we think we love it or hate it – this is what has made us who we are and what we sound like as a band... with ironic chirpy tunes parried with destitute lyrics like those in MDMA or Good Night’s Sleep, or taking a light-hearted view on ourselves and our lives, as in Photoshop or Life In The Bus Lane.

We love what we’re doing and won’t be told otherwise! And as ever, our recordings and live performances will let you be a part of it.
