Everybody was born with a destiney. The beauty in being born talented but of an unwealthy background is in chasing destiney. Thia Brown discovered her star quality at the tender age of eight. Mimicking songs sung by artist like Celine Dion, Tina Turner and Mariah Carey. Inspired by the emotion behind every lyric they sang, she began creating her own music, and lyrics. This came to the attention of her third grade teacher, who became so impressed, she had her perform for the school. Things turned around after the first time she sang her heart out on stage. Gaining the support from her peers, who believed that she will make it someday.
Thia found ways to spread her talents, by performing at different venues and working with different up and coming producers. In 2004 Thia Brown met with Truth a promotor for Sony and Epic records. Thia Brown built a street following by performing at many shows. By the following year she has performed at over 30 events and getting bookings in her community. In 2007 Truth was brutally murderd at Club Strata in NYC, the tragic lost was a life learned lesson for Thia. A few months later Thia Brown was invited to a birthday party for Sadeck Jean, a producer and Wyclef Jeans brother. On her way out the door the promoter for the event calls her back in from outside. " I was going to be late for work so I was about to leave when he called me to get on the Mic, said Thia". " I sang for Sadeck it was a little wierd cause I was meeting him for the first time but I heard he was a great producer". "That same night he said I gotta get in touch with that girl her voice is beautiful". "So he left his contact info for me to come to the studio". Thia Brown is a model for strong woman. Learning from her friend and mentor Truth and developing into a career driven female that she has become today.
In 2008 Thia Brown was nominated as most promising female singer by the underground music awards. That same year she took a trip to Atlanta and teamed up with producer 88 keyz. Thia Brown's passion for music turned out to be a positive thing. She's constantly learning about the buisness side of the industry, building her fanbase and creating good music. 99 percent of her lyrics is self written and her distinctive voice has captured the attention of music industry insiders. A total package of brains, beauty, and talent sets her apart from other artists. She has her own alter ego for the crowd the ladies feel it and the guys love it.
There is definitely a story behind the pain in her voice. Not having the support of family forced her to grow up fast. Thia's life has been about persuing an education and persuing music. People are drawned by the content of her lyrics and her captivating vocal abilities. She's always aiming to write genuine lyrics that can touch and affect people all over the world. "My life has always been a battle" say's Thia, " A fight for my future, education, and family support". She does not shy away from her past experiences growing up in the streets of Brooklyn NY. Some of her friends from the old neighborhood have been either murdered or locked up. Moving to New Jersey was different, realizing that she did not have to fight for respect everybody deserves respect.
