Bio

Thin December is a four piece indie-rock band hailing from Sacramento California. They were formed in 2003 when front man and guitarist Johnny Cowan asked drummer Jeremy Reeves and one other artist to start up a new band out of the ashes of a previous project. Johnny’s haunting vocal style and Jeremy’s insane drum skills proved to be a great foundation to the Modern Rock drive behind Thin Decembers music. About the same time Thin December was forming, guitarist Jimmy Ward’s band was dissolving. Sad as this was, it did have one favorable result: it put Jimmy’s coveted guitar slinging skills back on the open market. The guys in Thin December made quick work of snatching him up.

In late 2004 with the addition of Jimmy, the band was writing songs at a fevered pace and began seeing the need for a full length CD project. Thin December teamed up with visionary producer/author Sean Farrington and began the recording process in late December of that year. Unfortunately, half way into the project, the long standing bass player left the band. This turn of events nearly proved fatal to both the recording project and the band’s future. Seven months after the departure of their bass player; the newest member, Jason Alves was discovered (or rediscovered as it were) when Johnny bumped into him at a concert. They had been long time friends, but Johnny had no idea that Jason also played bass. When Johnny finally put two-and-two together Jason was asked to audition – the rest is history. Jason confirmed his place in the Thin December line-up and brought renewed life and vitality back into the band.

With the release of their self-titled debut album now on the streets Thin December is enjoying a rapidly growing reputation as a powerful influence on the modern music scene. Their elevated melodies and rich, rock tones are creating rumors of greatness as every passing show grows their following and impresses critics.
