HEIRS: Our newest EP HEIRS is available on iTunes, CDBaby, and other digital retailers. "Oh Yeah" from the EP reached #16 on the Billboard Christian Rock Chart during August of 2012. We are honored to have been selected for the Nashville Publicity Group's TEN Project album, released March 5, 2013, as one of the independent bands that they believe represents the future of Christian music.

THE MINISTRY

The national touring band Thirty-Nine Thoughts desires to change lives by ministering through the music God has given them to spread His word. They possess a unique ability to connect with all ages through music that includes Christian rock and worship rock. The band has performed at over 300 live events including appearances at national Christian festivals such as AtlantaFest, Ichthus, Alive Festival, Big Ticket Festival, Cornerstone Festival, Lifest, and Rock the Desert.

In May of 2010, the band released its initial CD "Thirty-Nine Thoughts" and in January 2011 they released the second CD "Simple". Their first official music video for "Come One, Come All" was released in October 2011. In December 2011, the band released 2 singles of their newest songs - Give Rock the Radio and This War. In May of 2012, the band released their newest EP "Heirs", recorded in Nashville, Tennessee.

THE HISTORY

Formally organized in April of 2008, the band first performed on the stage of the legendary Cactus Theater in Lubbock, Texas. The band has maintained a rigorous live concert schedule of over 275 live performances which has included numerous national festivals and the opportunity to play alongside major Christian artists such as Meredith Andrews, Josh Wilson, Jonny Diaz, Shane and Shane, Pocket-Full-of-Rocks, Disciple, Family Force 5, Leeland, and Bread of Stone.

In February 2011, the song "To You" was named a top 3 winner in the 18th Annual Billboard Worldwide Song Contest for the Christian music genre. In August of 2012 the song "Oh Yeah" from the EP HEIRS reached #16 on the Billboard Christian Rock Chart.

THE NAME

The name Thirty-Nine Thoughts is derived from the beginning of the crucifixion scene as noted in Mark 15:15 where Jesus was flogged. The normal custom of the day was to flog the individual with forty lashes using instruments such as the cat-o-nine tails. The custom at that time was to stop one lash short of forty so as not to accidentally exceed the number forty. During each of these thirty-nine lashes, Jesus had a thought for you and for me in taking our sins upon Himself. Thirty-nine lashes... THIRTY-NINE THOUGHTS. The name was established to be a message and a ministry.
