Thirty Second Pulse is an eclectic rock band that was created in West Hartford, CT in April 2008. The band consists of Matt Giuggio (lead vocals, guitar), Mike Giuggio (vocals, guitar), Bob Dinan (drums), and Pat Ryan (bass). The band name was derived from a feeling, unfiltered expression, passion, and togetherness.

Brothers Matt & Mike Giuggio were drawn at a young age to the creative process and emotional release of writing songs. The brothers spent years writing music as their unique style grew together over the better part of a decade. Putting various bands together over this time, they also built a recording studio that gave them the opportunity to realize their vision of collecting their best material and coupling it with the art of recording and producing an album. This studio was the birthing spot of two full length albums with other bands, but they had yet to find band members that could collaborate in unison. Growing up together they were always strong musical influences on each other, which will be transparent once you get to know them and their music. Their organic roots and shared vision transcends.

Bob Dinan first met the Giuggio brothers in 2005 while teaching drum lessons out of a local music store during his studies at The Hartford Conservatory. Matt and Mike were working at the same store at the time and the three began sharing their unique views on music. Shortly after, Bob was approached to work with the brothers on a project for a charity event. The three quickly realized that there was certain chemistry to their playing. Not long after, Bob agreed to join Matt and Mike as a full time drummer on their project. The following year they built an impressive amount of material. During this time they actively searched for another musician to collaborate with and help enrich their constantly evolving sound.

Ironically Pat started working at the same music store a few years later. Matt and Bob had left by that point but there was a small frame of time where Mike was still there. Mike overheard that Pat had just finished school at Berklee College of Music and moved back home. Mike was eager to get him to a rehearsal to show him what the band had been working on. Something good was in the air when Pat stepped foot into the band's rehearsal space. The next few weeks of rehearsals solidified what everyone seemed to realize in that first meeting when the four played. Pat was the fourth member the band had been searching for.

Something else you must know… Matt is LiQuid, Mike is FIRE, Bob is puLse, Pat is PoWeR and Thirty Second Pulse is the name for the 5th element that is created when the band is playing as one.

Thirty Second Pulse’s full-length debut album “Oil of the Whale” was released on the band's label SubRhythm at the tail end of 2009. It is being described as edgy, innovative, and heart yanking with a high energy live show that reaffirms this band as a unique talent. They are actively preparing new material and are always on the verge of something new.
