"Their 'Landscape of Exhaustion' will leave you drained but wanting more" - Marc Vera, Entertainment Weekly - #786 Oct. 1, 2004

Biography

As a quartet from outside of NYC, This Blue Holiday collides raw sounds with beautiful atmosphere to create melodies that reverberate in the ears of the lonely hearted. Influenced by 80s rock under the shadow of hair metal and the pop rock of the 90s, This Blue Holiday’s compositions consist of straight forward rhythms that are complimented by complex guitars along with locking bass and drums. Evocative of perennial favorites like Echo and the Bunnymen, Joy Division, Radiohead, Coldplay and U2, This Blue Holiday's live shows are sonically dense. The partnership which is This Blue Holiday began in 2001.

This Blue Holiday has shared stages with, Piebald, Mates of State, Snowden, RaRaRiot, Mae, Plain White T’s, The Adored, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Liam and Me, Benzos, and The Blue Van.

Landscape of Exhaustion

Written By: lyrics - Ferdinand

He sighs when he glances looking at the pigs in the corridor
He feeds off the silence of his fortune and form
What are you?
You’re nothing at all
It’s a beautiful landscape of exhaustion and it’s pushing on
They fool us in motion, calculations and grabbing arms
What are you?
You’re nothing at all

Under the Lights

Written By: This Blue Holiday

All you're saying is
You're losing me here
Translating all of my
Movements and speech

Your open arms are like a wave
You're pushing me over
You're painted voice is like
One thousand pins and needles in me

Under the lights
We're fading just like disco
Climb inside you tonight

A dark green stare is
Moving through this faction
A quiet cold is
Warming all of our fears

This final dance is draining
All the sunlight in me
But on your birthday
This weak man
Exits parting love

Under the lights
We're fading just like disco
Climb inside you tonight

Drown your world tonight
You got me
Drown your world tonight
You lost me

Travels

Written By: This Blue Holiday

You gave me life
And a reason to fight

Your faith is bright
You give reason to it all

Don't walk away
Defend this love
Don't walk away
Your love is on the floor

Our travels have tired
But we built these roads

There's a bridge in sight
We walked upon them all before

Don't walk away
Defend this love
Don't walk away
Your love is on the floor

Already Gone

Written By: This Blue Holiday

Dawn it sings it breaks across your skin
I swear I rarely see something so blissful
Clouds of light they blanket all our warmth that hides
And after all we've been through it's clear

Let's hold our guns out
Toward the sun
After all that's said and done
We are already gone
We are all done for

Now as our bodies collide
There's hope that after this morning shines
You will still be near but I can see a hapless cry
That resonates through your waking eyes it's soaked in your fears

Let's hold our guns out
Toward the sun
After all that's said and done
We are already gone
We are all done for

Float

Written By: This Blue Holiday

We meet up in the kitchen again
Do some damage
Three bottles of wine
Then we go out on a weekday again
Talk some nonsense to clear our minds

We're alive
So alive

And all we were will float away
Yeah all we were will float away

We wake up with our shoes on again
Pretend we're funny
Pretend we're fine
We wake up all alone again
It's building character
It's building desire

At least we're alive
So alive

And all we were will float away
Yeah all we were will float away

Beneath It All

Written By: This Blue Holiday

Held on by a string to such a gorgeous thing
All the joy that it brings baby please don't deceive me this time

All we've become is it far from who we are
How is this union a flaw when I want to be by your side

When all my words had disappeared
I found you here beneath it all

When all the world was turning blue
I found you here beneath it all

Come slide into me come see what I see
Come dream and I dream come answer these questions inside

All that I want isn't wrapped up in gold
It is just skin and bones and this feeling is growing inside

When all my words had disappeared
I found you here beneath it all

When all the world was turning blue
I found you here beneath it all

We're boundless to see what voice will set us free
Captivated by scenes of careful and delicate love

All that I want isn't wrapped up in gold
It is just skin and bones and I know you'll remain by my side

When all the world was turning blue
I found you here beneath it all

We're boundless to see what voice will set us free
Captivated by scenes of careful and delicate love
