Bio

Dear Innocent Bystander,
Ahh, the bio. The place where the band uses a little text box to describe what type of sound they create. Somewhat ironic, but we’ll continue nonetheless. This Came From High School is exactly that. The band consists of 5 members who are all currently in high school. This isn’t, however, your conventional “music is cool, looks easy, lets play!” But rather, we like to think we know what we’re doing… and that’s just groovy.
Hopefully the best way to describe the band is simply This Came From High School. Not emo. Or rock. Alternative. Or folk. Just, simply, T.C.F.H.S. It’s something familiar, yet something inventive. Lyrically, it’s honest… in a dishonest way. Picasso puts it best: “Art is lies that tell the truth.” At times, our songs are allegorical and often flooded with some type of obscure metaphor or visual concept; everything is the result of a combination of well thought-out construction and sincere spontaneity. The rationale? Hopefully you’ll think about it more if it isn’t so easily understood. Then it should just hit you with a much deeper impact; words are clever little things, might as well take advantage of them.
We’ve been arranging music now since the 2003-2004 year, starting our career in your conventional garage. We learnt ‘X’ amount of covers until realizing the pointlessness of their intentions and quickly re-focused our talents toward a much more creative purpose. Through the years passed, we added a fifth member, reinvented our live show, and with one Demo and one about-to-be-released Record on its way, we’re right here, enjoying our dose of fame.
This is what we all enjoy doing, and for the benefit of both you and us, we hope you enjoy it too. Music is our passion; this is what we live for. We know it’s the typical teenager’s dream to play in a band and to become “famous,” but it’s not the status we seek. It’s something much better. And as I said before, we like to think that we know what we are doing.

Signed,
