Bio
Music today is filled with such predictable, forced and formulated standards that we forget about whats truly refreshing; genuine talent. This is what you hear when you listen to the pristine pop sound of Christine. This 22-year-old hailing from Long Island, New York is a fresh face to the industry that wont soon be forgotten. Christine is a natural born talent who is bred from a musical family including a grandfather who was a jazz musician and an uncle, Vincent Cafiso, who makes up half of the indie-pop duo Joy Zipper. Singing was always in Christines heart. As a little girl she sang Mariah Careys Vision of Love for hours walking through the living room, gathering anyone who would listen. Today she is set to gather the world and seek the horizon as her stage. Christine honed her skill at Long Islands Hewlett High School as a classically trained vocalist, prepping herself for musical theater as she entered Hofstra University in 2006. The thrill of theater ran its course after two years. In 2008 she transferred to Pace University in Manhattan to study English, however songwriting was the only written language she could focus on. Christine wanted to sing and no amount of schooling could prepare her to be a pop star. She dropped out of college in the summer of 2009 to pursue her dream of becoming a singer.
One night during an open mic session at Marfa Music lounge in the East Village, Christine caught the eyes of her manager, Dr. Syleecia Thompson (founder of DYG Management Group), while singing I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston. Given the irony of song choice, Dr. Thompson saw something special in Christine and knew she had to grab her before some shark came along who would taint her talent. I love the tones of her voice and there is a certain edginess and innocence to her. I think she has the makings of a super star that has longevity, said Dr. Thompson. Christine has a look that cant be boxed in: a daring and free style which she simply describes as classic. She can go from funky to sophisticated in a matter of seconds, all with a flick of her hair. Noting the star quality of her new artist, Dr. Thompson immediately headed for a photo shoot and the recording studio with Christine who is currently working on a killer demo. Listeners will hear original songs written by Christine like Take It Back, a song about a great relationship turned wrong once cheating and lying came into play. Listeners will also hear songs written by other songwriters like See Saw (written by Syleena Johnson), a song about accepting and moving on from an up and down relationship. Christine sings, But I dont really wanna keep doing this cause its a see saw one minute up then were down again. Cant keep pretending like were much more than this were just a see saw I think its time to move on from this love. Christines presence is stunning and her crystal clear voice is sure to quench the pop palate. She is an all eyes on me performer who will stop you in your tracks to get a glimpse of the vivacious voice.
