Ghost Town

Formed in 2011, Ghost Town is a small band with a big sound. The formation of Ghost Town was a process that was a combination of passion, determination and a little bit of luck. Members Tyler Morris and Jamie Hooper initially set out to make a band after numerous conversations about music, which led to them having several song writing sessions over the course of a few months. Eventually realizing that drums and a singer would be needed, the search led them to Jamie's friend Ryan Amarit with whom he met in college. Now things were beginning to move along quicker, and a singer was the last part of the equation. After trying several friends and local musicians, nothing seemed to pan out and frustrations were high. Through a chance conversation with a mutual friend, Ryan was introduced to Stuart DeRouen. He had just come back from a west coast tour for his acoustic music and was looking for a full band. So a jam session was set up and everything clicked. From that point forward, hard work, long nights, and many months later Ghost Town was ready. The sound of Ghost Town stems from a potluck of musical influences, with Stuarts vocal presence soaring over a deeply textured soundscape that ranges from spacious dreamy pop to crescendos of delay and feedback. Sounds that range from angular and raw, only to change to soft and quiet at a moments notice are the core of Ghost Towns sound. Dynamic in every sense of the word.
