Since the beginning of 2008, Leila, described by fellow musicians as "a true artisan", has been covered in various public media streams such as press and online and has also been featured on radio and television.
Most recently, Leila was featured in the Montreal Mirror's "Best of Montreal" when well known underground music critic Don Smooth quoted her as being his favourite up and coming urban artist. In addition, Canada's #1 urban female DJ, DJ SiVuPlay quoted Leila on www.hiphopcanada.com "the foremost up and coming Canadian artist with a 'unique' sound". DJ SiVuPlay has opened for high profile artists such as Nelly Furtado and Alicia Keys just to name a few.
2008 has already been exciting for Leila in the realm of radio as she took the country by storm with her track "Fire" when she was selected as a top 5 finalist in the Canadian Radio Star National Songwriting Competition, a contest organized by Mix 96. In addition, her performance at Sensation Mode's Fashion and Design Festival during Grand Prix festivities in downtown Montreal was documented in a local television show called "Montreality".
