Our first EP was 8 months in the making yet for some reason all 5 songs were written within the 6 week period leading up to recording. Saying that we write a lot would be an understatement. running through 2 new song ideas every week we have recently found the balence between being creative and being entertaining. Although we still tend to lean on the creative side of things, we have found that our fans actually enjoy seeing a different show when they see us live!
Kory, Jay and Luke all hail from diverse musical backgrounds which has caused an original sound to take shape in "this is luke". "We all enjoy GOOD music, since 'good' is pretty relative I don't know if I could sum it up in one or two styles." says Luke who's CD collection includes the prog rock stylings of "Liquic Tension Experiment" and some 90's Christian rock smaplings of the 77's and The Prayer Chain. Kory and Jay were no stranger to the Ska craze and still slip in an old disc from time to time. All three would claim to be influenced by some of the more intelligent emo and indie rock that is currently popular.
"Although we all love music, we all love Christ more;" Luke states. It is obvious that "This Is Luke" keeps running through open doors that they believe God has given them. "We all want to be rock stars, who wouldn't... but we are cool with wherever God puts us!"
The story of This Is Luke continues, and they hope that you get to be a part of it someday!
