Bio

Epic indie band Munich are getting a lot of love at the moment and are currently selling out headline shows in London and Brighton including great headline shows/ tours across the UK. Their music has been described as anthemic pop tracks with shattering lead guitars, heavy precise drums, striking vocals and lyrics that really push all the right buttons.

Nov 2010 saw their debut EP release Where are you now, produced by Paul Corkett (The Cure, Placebo, Nick Cave, Bjork and Biffy Clyro) with their first single 'All Sussed Out' released June 2011 along with UK summer tour, October 2011 was the release of their 2 single 'Into The Rain' which also gained them press and radio exposure in Europe leading to a sold out Paris show. All tracks are released through MaDa Music with Universal Music distribution. Currently booking further Eu shows and festivals.

After moving into a house in Brighton called 'Munich Mansions' where they set up a studio they've been constantly been writing tracks for their upcoming album, in Dec 2011 they started releasing 5 brand new demos every few weeks with the final release JUST LIKE YOU as a free download 27th Feb.

Stuart Slade (Vocals) James Mckeown (Guitar, piano, vocals) Stuart Weller (Guitar) Josh Holmes (Drums) and Tom Howland (Bass) have been likened to stadium rockers The Verve and Muse and are a band with great integrity and passion for their music.

They played the likes of Glastonbury, The Great Escape, Ben & Gerry's Sundae, Bournemouth Summer Ball festivals and the London and Brighton gig circuits in venues such as Digital, Concorde2, O2 Academy Islington and proud Galleries to name only a few. They've played with bands such as Codeine Velvet Club, Chapel Club, Maccabees, Bluetones and Cornershop and Graham Coxon and more recently Bombay Bicycle Club and Radio 1's 2011 listed bands, Mona.

They are receiving great press and radio including being play listed on XFM, NME and Q Radio including reviews in Magazine's Q,The Fly, Source and XYZ and Drowned In Sound. They've played a 4 track live sessions for BBC Introducing Sussex played a show for BBC intro Berkshire with plays on BBC Scotland and BBC Wales where they went down really well with a packed out audience.

Media Quotes:

Q Magazine
Masters of the slow build with huge swathes of strings reminiscent of The Verve at their best with added chiming guitars and a hint of James at their best. This Brighton five piece have some evocative fist clenching tunes and a giant voice in the shape of simply dubbed singer Slade.

BBC Sussex Introducing
'Epic, Good stuff'

XFM (X-posure show - John Kennedy)
"Epic, I love them

XFM (head of music - Mike Walsh)
"Munich are great and just what British music needs"
Audience/ Live Magazine (James Drury)
With its anthemic strings and powerful crescendo, Right Time Right Place has serious chart potential.

Brighton Source Magazine (NC)
Munich certainly dont mislead. With arenas-in-waiting swirls of guitar, swathed in levels of reverb that would make The Edge say thats a lot of reverb there, lads, the songs pack an immense emotional punch. Even ballad Where Are You Now racks up the atmospherics, but elsewhere its the bait of the plugsnpedals work along various fret boards that reels the listener in, matching a colossal size of sound with memorable hooks what more could you ask for?

XYZ Magazine
"Dreamy pop written with the summer festivals in mind."

Juice FM (Tony Marks)
"With songs as huge as Together Again, Munich deserve to be playing in front of equally huge audiences."
