Biography

This That And the Other is a playful indie-ixielandpunkpopdramarock quartet with a unique sound characterized by a special blend of upbeat theatrical, traditional, and modern musical styles. Their music is made to energize, inspire, and excite the musical blandscape. This eccentric band does not limit itself to one style or genre, and experiments by mixing and matching musical sounds, borrowing from jazz, indie rock, and pop as its members are open-minded multi-instrumentalist musical dabblers. In Late 2003 the band was hand crafted in Temecula, California by two aspiring songwriters; Anthony Pedroza, and Ellen Warkentine. Their love for music and optimistic view on life inspired what is now called This That And the Other. Through its sanguine songscapades, This That And the Other will take you on a whimsically wacky musical adventure through magical, mixed up worlds of irony and optimism, old and new timely rabble-rousery, and serious ridiculousity. This That And the Other is not just a band, it is an experience. We're a playful drama rock quartet singing and dancing our way into the big tired heart of the world. We're optimists. We make fun of things. We're mischievous. We love you.

Post Armageddon

Everybody, we can’t go out tonight,
We all must stay inside.
We don’t know what we would find,
At least were still alive.. . .

It was a sickening sound,
don’t we want to find out.
What is left of us now,
That the sun is down.

Take a look out side.
It’s a lifeless faded sight.
And now its hard to breath,
Is this really happening?

It was a deafening crash,
That happened suddenly.
And now its coming fast and taking over me.
Its Over me. . . . .

We were wrong, there is no back to normal this time.
We’ll all be dropping like fly’s before long, ohh no.
We were wrong, there is no back to normal this time.
We’ll all be dropping like fly’s before long, ohh no.

Everybody I don’t know where you’ve gone,
The world’s a blur, goodbye to everyone.
I guess this is the end,
It is quiet black and then. . . . .

It was a sickening sound,
don’t we want to find out.
What is left of us now,
That the sun is down.

The Optimist

Written By: Pedroza/Warkentine

An angel was sent to tell me
Our destiny exactly.
“Some Tired Cloud is Blocking out,
Light you may not see right now.”

Why can't you folks leave us alone?
Living ain't easy when you’ve got no home.
Were living off dirt, but we’ll make it work, you’ll See.

From rags to riches we’ll be someday,
But who needs lots of money, when you’ve got lots to say.
A crisp bill in our hands ain't really worth a damn to me, Not me.

Throw away the troubles, Ill sing to that.
I’ve been down to the bottom, I don’t want to go back anymore
(x2)
When Life gets hard you’ve got to let it go,
Too many places to see, too many things to know.
I don’t care what I lack, I'm never looking back, not me.

Throw away the troubles, I'll sing to that.
I’ve been down to the bottom, I don’t want to go back anymore
(x2)

Right now, it seems the dream is gone,
What was alright, now seems all wrong.
So I'll sing to you this very song, My darling, sing along.

Hand to hand, and heart to heart.
Our lives will be a work of art.
And you’re the most important part,
My darling this is just the start.

When life gets hard you’ve got to let it go,
Too many places to see, too many things to know.
I don’t care what I lack, I'm never looking back, not me

Why can't you folks leave us alone?
Living ain't easy when you’ve got no home.
Were living off dirt, but we’ll make it work, you’ll see.

From rags to riches we’ll be someday,
But who needs lots of money, when you’ve got lots to say.
A crisp bill in our hands ain't really worth a damn to me, not me.

Wait for the day, the end is not far away.
Wait for the day, the end is not far away, not far away!!!

Throw away the troubles, I'll sing to that.
I’ve been down to the bottom, I don’t want to go back

Throw away the troubles, I'll sing to that.
I’ve been down to the bottom, I don’t want to go back anymore.

Miss Enchantment

Written By: Pedroza/Warkentine

(Woo-hoo / Hey)
I believed the superstition
After all, you're only fiction
(but that won't explain the stitches or the scars)
But these are things that don't concern me
No point in working up a frenzy
Over things that disappoint me anyhow
Oh you're boring- same old stories
I'm ignoring you
Sayin' the same things
Playin' the same games
(Woo-hoo/Hey)
I believe in a pretention,
too important not to mention.
Thats why you dont get my attention anymore.
But these are things that don't concern me,
No point in working up a frenzy
Over things that disappoint me anyhow. . . .
Oh you're boring- same old stories
I'm ignoring you
Sayin' the same things
Playin' the same games
(Woo-hoo/Hey)
