Thistlepatch midi-evil Chorus is what I have sometimes called my accompaniment. It was done by a computer generated midi. As a musician one has to look at that as being an inherently evil chorus. I now have an electronic keyboard and have been re-recording some of the songs on this site.

Biography

I am 58 Years old and at this point consider myself to be much more of a writer than performer. I wrote or at least started writing my first song in 1978 but didn’t finish until after going back to school to study music theory in 1999. I’ve been married for 38 years. We spent 35 of those years on a dairy farm in western Washington where we raised 7 Children before moving to Arizona in 2008.

When I Look at You

Written By: Brian E. Peterson

Oh when I look at you,
The sky is always blue.
Even if it’s raining at the time.
I don’t know what to do,
I’m so in love with you.
You’re drivin’ me out of my mind.

When you smile at me,
My heart skips a beat.
What I feel just seems too good to be true.
But you say that you’ll be there,
To give me tender loving care.
And when I’m down you’ll help to see me through.

I want for us to be together for all time.
I want to live to make you happy ease your troubled mind.
I hope this love that we now have grows stronger with each day.
For the rest of our lives together we will stay.

Before you and I met,
My life was such a mess.
It seemed nothing that I tried came out right.
Since we met that day,
What I feel is hard to explain.
But I’ve got you on my mind both day and night.

I want for us to be together for all time.
Oh I want to live to make you happy, ease your troubled mind.
I hope this love that we now have grows stronger with each day.
For the rest of our lives together we will stay.

When you look my way,
Always something nice to say.
I don’t see how one can be so kind.
I know this may sound strange,
But if you I could change.
I’d keep you as you are for all time.

Firelight

Written By: Brian E. Peterson

Glow of the firelight
Enhanced by the pale moonlight
Reflections dancing in her eyes
Has always kept me mesmerized

Lights flicker in her hair
Cast spells as mere mortals stare
Making times forward march contend
With reason’s impassioned end

It doesn’t really matter much
The things said that night
Glamour lighting
Found at a campsite

Glow of the firelight
Helping numerous lovers unite
Fireplace, campsite, or candlelight
By the glow of the campsite

Democrats & Republicans

Written By: Brian E. Peterson

If Democrats want it the Republicans don’t.
If Republicans want it of course Democrats don’t.
It really doesn’t matter if the idea’s any good.
They always have to disagree. They believe it’s understood.
They really think it’s understood.

If the Democrats don’t want it the Republicans do.
If Republicans don’t want it you know Democrats do.
Although this constant bickering may seem a little rude,
You know the always can agree when the public’s getting screwed,
But only when the public is getting screwed.

Republicans and Democrats agree on many issues.
They’re just so busy campaigning all the time.
Millions of Americans are sick of all the posturing.
We all have a vote. One is mine. I’ll use mine.

If Democrats want it the Republicans don’t.
If Republicans want it you know Democrats don’t.
We sent them all to Washington to represent our side but-
When they come back home again all they do is tell us lies.
They only seem to tell us lies.

If the Democrats don’t want it the Republicans do.
If Republicans don’t want it of course Democrats do.
They fight and argue constantly while getting nothing done but-
Once election time is here we can vote out every one.
Let’s go and vote out every one.

Politicians always seem to aggravate the voters.
Yet we go and vote them back in every time.
Incumbents have proven that they won’t work for the people.
They had their chance now it is our time. This time-

If a Democrat’s in office we’ll vote someone different in.
If a Republican’s in office someone else needs to get in.
With all new folks in Washington good times will begin,
Or in two years come election time we can do it all again.
Vote with me and let the people win.

If a Democrat’s in office someone else needs to get in.
If a Republican’s in office we’ll vote someone different in.
With all new folks in Washington good times will begin,
Or in two years come election time we can do it all again.
Vote with me and let the people win.
Vote with me and let the people win.

Ode to the Pacific Northwest

Written By: Brian E. Peterson

The rain comes down.
The rain comes down.
Tears from the sky falling on this old town,
Gray skies take the life right out of this place.
The blues I can’t outrace.
There is no hiding place.
That rain does not encase.

The rain comes down.
The rain comes down.
The cold on one’s face makes it hard not to frown.
I grew up believing in some fantasy.
To live my life care free,
To find peace and harmony,
But rain drops are all I see.

I fear my best days have been washed away,
By heavens constant downpour,
A glimpse of sunlight might happen one day,
But not for a month or more,

The rain comes down.
The rain comes down.
Tears from the sky falling on this old town,
Sunshine would make this a beautiful place.
Nature’s warm embrace,
If clouds we could erase,
Then sun would take their place.

The rain comes down.
The rain comes down.
The rain keeps falling down.

Dance of the Cockroach

Written By: Brian E. Peterson

What is the creepy thing on the floor?
I hate it!
Why does it crawl like that?
I don’t like it!
It came here thinking no one’s around.
Oh, why must I live in such crap!

Some would just leave this ugly thing here.
On the floor!
I just don’t think that way.
He is done for!
I’ll put an end to his pitiful life.
He won’t make my home his buffet!

I’ve got a can of spray, Could end his days.
He’d fall down on the floor and kick his legs.
But if I go get it he’ll run away.
Then I will have to look at him another day.
I could just quietly, pick up my shoe
And smash his puny head, that’s what I’ll do
He could dance to the left, then to the right
Even if he does somersaults, I’ll end his life!

Now that I have formed my battle plan,
I’ll use it!
I just need to move quick.
I can’t just sit!
And wait for the horrid thing to come here,
If I don’t hurry up he’ll split!

I’m slowly reaching down for my shoe.
I gotcha!
Now creepin’ cross the floor
I will crush U!
Little monster you’re in reach of my shoe
Mister you’re in some deep doo doo!

All that Snow

Written By: Alexander Thomas Peterson

What can we say about Christmas
That you don’t already know
There are presents underneath the tree
Food and joy for the family
And regrettably
All That Snow

There are some jobs during this time
That take a harder blow
Like the farmer with snow up to his knees
Who can’t get the milk to the creamery
Because he’s struggling
With All That Snow

The snow is gross and it clogs the drain
It gets so cold you’d thing you’d go insane
The farm work’s not done yet the kids want to play
The back still hurts from shoveling snow off the hay
The tractor won’t start. The horse has gone lame
The cows won’t milk. Chickens don’t lay frozen eggs
You spent all you money on heaters and feed
But the kids still beg for presents that they think they need
And that is why the farmer is such a grouch
He’d rather cuddle with the misses up on the couch
Instead of struggling with All That Snow.

Comin’ down the road there is a friend
Who helps the farm life flow
He pumps the milk into his big truck
But soon after he leaves he starts to run out of luck
‘cause now he’s struggling with All That Snow

Imagine drivin’ down the road when the wheels start to spin
You have to chain up to get on the road again
You slip and slid and fall on your butt
As someone drives by and splashes you with slush
The chains are still not on ‘though you’ve tried to do it twice
You hands are numb your face is covered with ice
The blizzard picks up and the wind starts to bite
You know you’ll be stuck for the rest of the night

And that is why the trucker is such a grouch
He’s rather cuddle with the misses up on the couch
Instead of struggling with All That Snow
We all hate struggling with All That Snow
