Bio
Thomas Roberts (18), is a New York City drumset player. Raised in the small town of Bozeman, Montana, Thomas first played the drums at the age of 12, soon finding a passion for the instrument, playing his first gigs at the age of 13. Additionally he attended the Stanford Jazz Workshop on a full ride scholarship that same year, further perpetuating his love for the drums. At 14, he performed at the Lionel Hampton and U.N.C. Greeley Jazz Festivals with a jazz ensemble consisting of fellow musician youth, winning musicianship awards at both, furthermore scoring two superior ratings on drumset solo and snare drum solo in the District Music Festival. Since then, Thomas has been expanding his musical horizon, performing as a finalist in the Portland Jazz Forward Competition two years in a row, and accompanying master musicians such as Azar Lawrence, Benito Gonzales, and others.
