Bio
I grew up in Hamilton playing in bands, learning, listening with occasional bouts of shopping and partying. Went to U of T for a music degree. Gigged/gigging around Toronto for the past 5 years in various freelance situations including radio, film, theatre and television but mainly bars and clubs and festivals with groups like Allie Hughes, Katie Stelmanis, Juicebox, the Debonaires, on and on and on .....
My solo thing has been simmering for the last year or so, playing shows whenever the fans demand. Record at home massive disco jams but in a live setting usually just a guitar and voice and movement. The full band is in the works ... will probably involve bass drums, keys and rhythm guitar with searing back-up vocals.
My sound : Little white boy channels Jane Siberry and George Benson. Moments of intimate falsetto to unhinged guitar freak-outs. Thoughtful lyrics about friendship, dreamlands, love, cats. Melodies you want to sing but feel ashamed to.
I cover Doris Day and 70's Blossom jams, as well as Timbaland but I mainly just stick to my own tunes which are sensitive but fairly tits-out. My voice is often awkward which helps to draw people in.... my guitar playing is over-the-top which helps to draw people in.
My influences are Jane Siberry, George Benson, Doris Day, Blossom Dearie, Everything But the Girl, Omarion, etc.
