Thompson Square Shawna Was Born In Mississippi But Raised In Southern Alabama Just Outside The Thriving Metropolis Of Chatom, Alabama (Pop. Small), Shawna’s Dream Of Being A Recording Artist Began When She Started Singing Into A Hand-Held Tape Recorder At Four Years Of Age. She Actually Made Her First Recording In Her Mama’s Kitchen With Her Daddy Playing Banjo. From There It Was The Stage In The Old Country Church Singing For The Congregation. That Was Just The Beginning. This Future High School Drum Major Was On Her Way To A Life Filled With Music. She Grew Up On The Music Of Female Singers Like Reba McEntire, Shelby Lynne, Etta James, And Patty Loveless Along With Songs Of Country Stars Like Merle Haggard And Alabama. Singing In Her Father’s Local Band Was A Way Of Life Growing Up But It Wasn’t Long Until She Set Her Sights On Nashville Where She Scored An Artist Development Deal With A Major Label At Age 18. Three Weeks In Nashville And Shawna Meets Keifer, One Of The Extremely Talented Singer/Songwriters Also Going Through Nashville’s Artist Development Process. Keifer Is From Northeast Oklahoma By Way Of Missouri Southern University, Excelling In Athletics And Academics, Keifer Paid His Way Through College Performing, All The While Writing And Building A Catalogue Of Songs. Graduation From College Was A Graduation Into The Music Business, Destination Nashville; Writing With Some Of Nashville’s Great Songwriters, Gigging On His Own And Touring With Other Major Artists And Honing His Skills As A Player, Singer, Songwriter And Performer. Three Short Years After Keifer And Shawna Met They Got Married. Two Paths, One Road. Two Hearts, One Dream. Two Voices And Styles That Blend As Sweet As Sugar In Grandma’s Iced Tea. Individual Artists In Their Own Right Now Joined As One Team Bringing Something Extraordinary To The Music They Produce. Two Singers, Two Songwriters Who Have Each Had The Same Picture In Their Minds Since They Were Kids. Now, It’s One Picture With Both Of Them In It.
