Bio

Formed many moons ago with the aim of making some noise Those Damned Junkie Deejays have developed into a hard working funk inspired rock band. With the addition of Italian drummer Antonio Dalé the band learned to communicate solely through music thanks to Antonio's poor grasp of the english language. His total command of the drums combined with Patrick O'Brien's seemingly impossible bass grooves help set out a tight-ass rhythm over which the dual guitars of Alan Heffernan and Anthony Ennis do battle. With an original sound developing they headed into Creamy Sonic studios, Dublin, to record a demo with then lead singer Lisa Mc Clurg. The results of which can be heard on the track "Something Temporarily".

On the strength of a successful time in the studio they then proceeded to gig (if a little irregularly) and get to work on some new songs. But the pressures of trying to write new material that they hoped would surpass their demo and the need to work tirelessly to succeed became too much for Lisa and feeling it was for the best she unexpectedly quit the band!

At this point a decision had to be made.. break up the band or find a replacement fast..

So the band began the hunt for new vocal talent, hoping to find someone to complete their sound but with the ability to floor anyone within earshot and to out-do the rest of the band when it comes to dedication. And just when things were looking bleak they somehow stumbled upon Sarah-Louisa Nolan, a shambolic singer-songwriter with a hatred for Singer-Songwriters, a heavy drinking problem and a large collection of hats.. but what's more she can sing! With a couple of new tracks recorded and a tight set Those Damned Junkie Deejays have begun touring extensively promoting their new sound and getting down with some sleazy funk shenanigans. Damn straight!!
