Bio

Bob Katsiaficas believes in fate, and Thousand Days was born from his conviction that all things happen for a reason. Having been the lead singer for his band Kat for years playing heavy rock, he had been thinking it might be time for a change. Change walked through the door of the Sky Bar in Cambridge in the form of a booksmart med student with a not so secret obsession for music, introducing Pardis Sabeti. She was just there for her regular fix of live music and found herself listening to what she thought was the best unsigned band she had ever heard. Two months later, through a bizarre chain of events, she was the band's lead singer. Kat (Bob, Jon Durocher, and Dana Goulet) transformed into Thousand Days keeping the very best of their heavy origins with a more ethereal lyric line and a female lead singer who models herself after Maynard James Keenan, Blair Shehan, and Michael Stipe rather than female counterparts, well, except Kim Deal. The band has just released their first 2-song demo of their early collaborations, Somebody Like You and I Am. And they have been showing off their new more heavy and haunting tracks like Zia and Headlight Waves as they play gigs around New Hampshire and Cambridge, including Club Fuel, TT's, the Kendall Cafe), and the Abbey Lounge. Thousand Days is only just beginning and will undoubtedly show that there is such a thing as fate.
Bassist Dana Goulet, is carrying out his duties in the National Guard and will be stationed in Iraq. Stay tuned for upcoming shows in Baghdad. Until then, Chris Parent will be filling in on bass.
