"The Monster Mishmash"

Broken Dreams: "The guitar starts out with a heavy, Metallicaesque crunch riff, punctuated with spooky Black Sabbath-like vibratoed notes, then it launches into an Iron Maiden-like hammer-on and pull-off riff. The vocalist sounds like a young Rob Halford, and his vocal melody was quite inventive sounding melodic yet frenetic at the same time, capturing perfectly the desperate theme of the lyrics."

Bio

Thrashing Ashley began as "Formerly Known As...” (FKA) comprised of Johnny, Will, and John Paul. As FKA began to gain ground in the local San Antonio music scene, their drummer left to pursue other projects. Oscar, the engineer who had recorded their demo, agreed to sit in until they found a new drummer. It didn't take long before Oscar joined the group permanently. Playing opening spots for notable rock bands such as Riot, James Rivera (Hellstar, Flotsam and Jetsom), and the L.A. Guns, the memory of FKA quickly fell to the wayside and gave way to "Thrashing Ashley."

"Thrashing Ashley," takes the standard rock genres and attempts to mix, match, and call them their own; not punk, not emo, not heavy metal, not John Tesh, a fine line where they all meet to become rock!

If Staind, Smashing Pumpkins, and the bastard love child of Evanescence and Green Day joined forces and sodomized Kc and the Sunshine Band, well that’s kind of what they sound like! Rock, punk, ska, and just a light hint of funk!

Fyi... "Ashley" is actually a street on the Southside of San Antonio, TX. The memory of a vandalized corner is what we built the name upon...
