"Thread of Hope (7/17 AKA Lounge)"

Certainly one of the standouts of this weekend, Thread of Hope's performance was energetic and engaging, Favoring good spirited sing alongs over the phony rock star posturing that often pollutes our stages. A refreshing and uplifting look at todays punk music!!
From the second they took the stage, Thread of Hope was a well oiled engine, roaring at full throttle. The lead vocalist, covered to the knuckles in tattoos, led the band through about 8 melodic punk rock anthems, while the bassist and one of the guitarists traded off harmonies. Sort of reminded me of Bad Religion a little, but still very original. Great songs and a great live band!!! - Florida Music Festival

There is a heart in every city, and from every heart there is a pulse. Thread of Hope’s music captures the heart and pulse of Ft. Lauderdale Florida, one of America’s great lost cities. Their songs are uptempo and melodic yet soulful and gritty, reflecting local streets where the homeless live at the steps of downtown high rise condos. With an infectious blend of bare bones Rock n’ Roll, classic Punk and melodic Hardcore, Thread of Hope have a sound that is sure to strike a chord with fans of The Bouncing Souls, Dropkick Murphys, Rise Against, Bad Religion and Social Distortion among others, underlined with the heart and passion of Springsteen, and the ear-catching hooks of early Beatles. The music is narrated with heartfelt lyrics about life and loss, glory and defeat, friends and family, all delivered with plenty of razor sharp working class attitude. As of 2007, Thread of Hope stand poised to become the future of Rock and Punk in the years to come!!
The five members of Thread of Hope have been friends and devout veterans of South Florida’s local scene for over a decade. The have stuck together through broken vans, broken bones and broken promises from outsiders. In 2004, after playing and touring together in various bands, the boys came together with a vision of adding fresh blood to the basics of Rock and Punk: Raw, energetic, catchy songs with huge choruses all played in under 3 minutes. The name ‘Thread of Hope’ appropriately symbolized the band’s spirit, and commitment to triumph over adversity. The band quickly cut their teeth with select dates up the East Coast, opening for bands ranging from Remembering Never to Nonpoint, from The Smoking Popes to Electric Frankenstein. Their sweaty, high energy performances have earned them an equally diverse audience. After the delayed release of their self-titled debut in 2006 on Second Chance Records, TOH immediately went back into the studio with a vengeance, and recorded a 3 song single for the track “My Lady Luck”. The new, more energized sound quickly started a local buzz, and became the blueprint for their most recent effort, “By the Skin of Our Teeth.”
This full length CD was officially released in May 22, 2007 on TOH guitarist Gabe Katz’s brand new Brick & Iron Recordings. He will be working side by side with NewArtSchool, a local label and promotion company responsible for bringing down legendary acts ranging from Dick Dale to the Circle Jerks. Brick & Iron already has several pre orders for “By the Skin of Our Teeth,” as well as several hundred copies available at local stores, on Interpunk.com, CDBaby.com, and soon in select Best Buy and Hot Topic locations. MP3 versions of the songs are also available on iTunes, Napster, DigStation and hundreds of other online outlets. The disc was unveiled on May 17th at Thread of Hope’s prime slot on Orlando’s annual Florida Music Festival, which also featured Flogging Molly along with Chuck Ragan of Hot Water Music.
“By the Skin of our Teeth” is a testament to the years of hard work that the members of Thread of Hope have put into their music, the local scene and their everyday lives. The second half of 2007 leading into 2008 will find the band touring the country in support of the record and constantly writing new, ever evolving material. Although still a young band (members range from 25-30), Thread of Hope is comprised of five seasoned veterans that have the heart and the vision to live their dream to the fullest potential!!
