Bio
Daniela Gassi, the groups lone female and powerhouse violinist, first met Liam and Graeme Gerussi (grandsons of actor Bruno Gerussi) at summer camp in Ontario. Their musical tastes and talents led to the formation of the band after years of playing together around campfires and in other casual venues. Since then they have played all over Ontario, with a rotating roster of musicians and friends.
After years of hard work on their self-titled debut album, their bands professional career took off steeply in March of 2013 when they entered the CBC Searchlight contest and quickly accelerated to a spot among the Top 5 artists in Toronto with their first single, Dreams.
On May 23rd, they released their full-length, independently produced record to a packed house of fans, family, and friends, at Clintons Tavern in Toronto. Produced and engineered by Grammy-nominated artist and producer Kenny Bounce Neal Jr., it is a collection of songs written by the band and performed with passion, commitment, intelligence, and the youthful vigour of a group in its prime. Since then, they have been featured more than once on CIUT 89.5FM Unsigned Radio, received an honourable mention from the West Coast Songwriter's Award, and are being featured on an upcoming compilation CD.
As they continue to write and record even more nuanced work for their next project, they continue to play all around Toronto, each show featuring guest musicians and friends, adding variety and energy to their already amazing live shows.
