Throb Zombie

Throb Zombie

 Tempe, Arizona, USA
BandRockPunk

A modern take on 90's punk rock, drawing influences from Bad Religion, Social Distortion, NOFX, the Misfits, etc... although we bring a little more pop into some of our songs than they did.

Biography

Throb Zombie was formed at the end of 2010 by a group of four musicians who wanted an escape into music from everyday life. Instead of focusing on "commercial" music, the members were convinced that great music could be created without limiting creativity to what was acceptable in the industry. Songs flowed rapidly, written about modern issues, whether political, personal, or partying.

Throb Zombie shows are energetic and full of the punk rock attitude that is so vital to a true punk show. Brett Dooley's lyrics are thought provoking and strike a chord with a wide variety of audiences. Brett Hansen brings sizzling lead guitar riffs and solos. Greg Lawson treats his bass like he owns it and it owes him money. John Churchill, though nicknamed "The Human Metronome," still plays his drums with feeling, style, and a definite groove.

Lyrics

Peace of Mind

Written By: Throb Zombie

All signs point to the end of the American Dream
All promises unkept by domestic policy
The triumph of humanity stopped by endless greed
With the silence of the moral and indifference of the free

What can the good do when they're fearful for their lives
From the evil in the world that makes us volunteer to be blind
Our children are lost as they question their roles
As the symptoms of humanity infect their newborn souls

When will I see
What I should be
When will I find
My peace of mind
God's final crime
Is shrinking time
As all men fade
Into our grave

Our science has a chance to fix a body's ills
But the sickness of society just can't be cured by pills
How can one man bring about a lasting change
Is it something he should do or is it something he should say

When will I see
What I should be
When will I find
My peace of mind
God's final crime
Is shrinking time
As all men fade
Into our grave

I want control
Of my own soul
I need to feel
Like I can heal
So with this goal
With my new role
I say I'll find
My peace of mind

First In Line

Written By: Throb Zombie

It's so easy to stay the same
No ambition required in our lives
Repetition is simple, and comfort for the soul
A plain way of life but I think there's more

I see a world where I aim for the stars
A simple life can wait until I reach my goal
I see a dream that is worth the scars
The future is mine to own

I wanna be first in line
To challenge the world, to throw out the old
I wanna be first in line
To make my new way, a new born beginning

If we strive to make a change
Is there room in this world for us all
Can the pressure to perform take away all the fun
And make us return to the norm

I see a life where fear does not hold
The risk is an adventure, a game to play
I have a song that will bring me along
And that's why I'll just say

I wanna be first in line
To challenge the world, to throw out the old
I wanna be first in line
To make my new way, a new born beginning
