Fast-rising THROUGH THE ROOTS celebrated a breakout year in 2011 and fans of

the popular San Diego, Calif. band's easy-listening music with Cali-Reggae

vibes and positive messages can look forward to even bigger things in 2012.

During a highly successful 2011, THROUGH THE ROOTS released its "Here to Stay"

album that debuted at No. 2 on iTunes and the band played 138 shows in 35 of

the nation's 50 states before thousands of new fans. That busy schedule

featured five tours, including the group's first Hawaii tour playing with

Pressure Drop,Dirty Roots, SOJA, and The Green, and two national tours -- the

first "Spring Harvest Tour" with Tribal Seeds and the 2nd Annual Lei'd Back

Tour with Iration & Tomorrows Bad Seeds.

THROUGH THE ROOTS also shared the stage in 2011 with international acts such as

Slightly Stoopid, Tech Nine, The Expendables, The Green, Tribal Seeds, Iration,

Tomorrows Bad Seeds, The Supervillains, The B Foundation, and Rebelution. To

cap off the impressive 12-month span, THROUGH THE ROOTS was nominated for

"Breakout Artist of the Year" for The Pier awards and left their fast growing

base of fans anxiously awaiting 2012 for more music and shows across the

country.

So far In 2012, THROUGH THE ROOTS has participated in the Winter Blackout Tour w/ The Expendables and has plans to release a new ep before the spring and a

full length album before the end of the year. The band also plans to revisit

many of those popular venues THROUGH THE ROOTS played in 2011 as well as visit

new locations across the country, spreading their positive music and thrilling

fans with their high-energy shows.

The "Here To Stay" CD quickly rose on the iTunes reggae Top 200 chart to No. 2

in the first week and remained amongst the best selling CDs in 2011 as more and

more THROUGH THE ROOTS fans were turned on by the catchy vibes and soothing

mixture of TTR's music. The popular CD garnered air time on the West Coast and

in Hawaii, adding to a six-song EP that THROUGH THE ROOTS put out in 2008, with

both remaining in iTunes' top 50 selling reggae CDs for 2011.

THROUGH THE ROOTS came together as a band in 2008 and blended its unique sounds

of reggae and rock music. TTR quickly captured music fans' attention all over

the West Coast as the band rose in popularity and became a must-see show while

sharing the stage with highly respected groups like Rebelution, Iration,

Pepper, Passafire, Tribal Seeds, Natural Vibrations and Alborosie, in various

venues across the United States.

THROUGH THE ROOTS, led by lead vocalist Evan Hawkins, one of the rising young

stars in Cali-Reggae music, and a talented supporting cast in Bryan Jackson

(Bass), Brady O'Rear (Keys), Taylor Boatwright (Drums, Vocals) and Cris Cruz

(Guitar/Keys), plans to continue touring through 2012 and expand TTR's budding

tour schedule while sharing their inspiring music.

Hawkins, Jackson, Boatwright and Cruz, all from San Diego, and O'Rear, from

Hilo, Hawaii, became friends in college and they quickly melted into a musical

chemistry that has fueled THROUGH THE ROOTS' rise to a highly sought after

touring group, playing before appreciative crowds all over the U.S.
