5 high school students who are looking to take their dream to the next level. Pop-punk music mixed with rock influences from Bayside, Punchline and others. Lyrics that express raw emotion and are very different from the usual lyrics heard on the radio about sex, drugs and women.

Biography

Through The Walls is a pop-punk/alternative rock band from Long Island, New York. With influences from All Time Low, Bayside, Envy On The Coast, This Condition, and many others, they have been creating music since the summer of 2009. Their debut 5 track EP, “Drawn To Scale” is out now. They are composed of 16 year olds Jake Leiter, Jesse Dakss, Jesse Kressel, Adam Luftig and 18 year old Matt Blank. Although they are young, they are serious about what they do. They performed at the Jones Beach walk for Autism Speaks with an approximated 20,000 people present. During the summer of 2009 when they first started writing music, they would have never imagined that they would be playing shows such as that. They currently are working on a new album as well. Playing shows with bands such as Bowling For Soup, This Condition, She Screams Scandal, We Are the In Crowd, Secret Secret Dino Club, and The Dangerous Summer, they are looking to make a big impact in the music scene- sooner rather than later.

Lyrics

I Can Fix Him

Written By: Matthew Blank

Abandon convictions
Im a work of fiction
Based on the saddest story of love loss and glory but

My skin has no expiration date
Ive got eternity to wait for memories to evaporate

Dare I defy my design, almighty equal sign
I Cant stress enough how its not enough
To live life like a lifeless living doll
And if Im just sin bound by twine
No soul between my chest and spine
Id trade it all, Id pay the toll
To have basic human flaws

Body mind and so the story goes
That the cycle of life flows in one direction but we chose to

Try and bring her back to breath and pulse
Back to smiles back to warmth
But my body was the cost

Dare I defy my design, almighty equal sign
I Cant stress enough how its not enough
To live life like a lifeless living hull
And if Im just memories bound to steel
Then tell me how I know Im real
Id trade it all, Id pay the toll
To have basic human flaws

And I Can Fix Him [x2]
You listen to me. Youre not strong enough to be a mortal human being
And I Can Fix Him [x2]
Sin in syndication, dont abandon aspirations. Heres our chance for domination

Dare I defy my design, almighty equal sign
I Cant stress enough how its not enough
To live life knowing my limb carries lives
And if vengeance seals my demise
Ill give em hell before I die
Id trade it all, Id pay the toll
To have basic human flaws

My Perfect Storm

Written By: Matthew Blank

These words are on the tip of my tongue
They live on the edge of my lungs
I miss you, I miss you

Once more Ill reiterate the way you orchestrate my elemental fate
The skies they open up for you

Shes got the temperature that could light the fields aflame
So I suffocate
In her cold embrace she spits in the face of Poseidon
Now the waves are closing in
And she will always be my perfect storm

And Im a natural disaster
With properties of plaster
Oh tough enough but Im wrapped around your finger

Maybe you overheard me say
My oh my, what a gorgeous day
You always knew how to make it rain

Shes got the shake could make my Earth quake and
Knock me off my feet, bring me to my knees
And her sharpened stare could fashion the air into daggers
Shes so cut-throat
And she will always be my perfect

Storm [x4]
Rain, rain. Go away. Come again another day [x4]

She broke the mold, turned lead into gold
They said it was impossible
But science be damned Im at her command
The forecast calls for beautiful
And she will always be my perfect

Storm [x4]
Rain, rain. Go away. Come again another day [x4]

Sunsets and Best Bets

Written By: Matthew Blank

I stared too long into the light but I didnt go blind
The image stained my eyes and now Earth sparkles

Maybe this mess is a message that I need incandescence
To get me through the darkest of nights

May I be the first to admit I
Love the way that you bring sunlight to my

Midnights never shone quite this
Brights the latest tone I
Define all that I know and keep inside by

Inhibition has my number. She calls me while I slumber
But I wont let her hold me from my dreams

No you cant break me
Not while Im surrounded by friends like these

Midnights never shone quite this
Brights the latest tone I
Define all that I know and keep inside by
If these crickets could talk
They might tell you what they saw
Watch the rhythm of the year unfold, unfold

Within everything in this life lies its counterpart
If the moon has a dark side, then the devil has a heart
And somewhere in your genial stare it occurred to me
That a sunsets just a sunrise you cant see

Midnights never shone quite this
Brights the latest tone I
Define all that I know and keep inside by
And when the rhythm fades and my
Heartbeat does the same if you
Remember my name I wont be gone, gone

The Happy Note

Written By: Matthew Blank

Can you find me the happy note
Cause Id sure as hell like to end on one
And judging by the size of your footprints on my mind
Your shoes shouldnt be hard to fill

And you can leave if you want to
But dont you dare come back
Cause this snows like the antidote to cover up your tracks
But if its not

Ill swap road signs
Repaint state lines
Ill be surprised if you
Make it home even half alive

Swap road signs
Repaint state lines
Redefine the mess that I
Found myself in this time

Shake fists at the very thought of dealing with this on your own
One finger places blame while three more point your way
Screaming let it go!

And your anger amounts to what?
An active rage versus a passive one
Subtlety can sting. You cant brace yourself for me

Ill swap road signs
Repaint state lines
Ill be surprised if you
Make it home even half alive

Swap road signs
Repaint state lines
Redefine the mess that I
Found myself in this time

Redefined like the plight of our hardest tries
Now Ill soldier on
Redefined like the slope of our steepest smiles
Now Ill soldier on

Ill swap road signs
Repaint state lines
Ill be surprised if you
Make it home even half alive

Swap road signs
Repaint state lines
Redefine the mess that I
Found myself in this time

The Smile

Written By: Matthew Blank

The writer had it all wrong when he wrote of love and war
Inherently lovely. Consistently struggling
And while the battle is silent, you know its not over
Wage war on your bloodstream, and hollows your victory
So Id hardly call this fair

I dont know the cure
But a smiles all Ive got
So lets give that a shot
And if a smile could extinguish hell
Bid demons farewell
Then Ill wear it loud and Ill wear it proud
And Ill never frown again

The sword only wounds skin and pens write prescriptions
Prescriptions that pour salt in the wounds they slowly halt
So my dear Damocles, if you can hear me
Sometimes the thin threads made from the strongest weave
So keep your faith alive

I dont know the cure
But a smiles all Ive got
So lets give that a shot
And if a smile could extinguish hell
Bid demons farewell
Then Ill wear it loud and Ill wear it proud
And Ill never frown again

They fixed you up good as new
With a brand new halo and matching white wings too
But golden gates are redundant
Cause through it all it was always apparent

That you were always an angel
This just made it official
You were always an angel
This just made it official

And I, I dont know the cure
But a smiles all Ive got
So lets give that a shot
And if a smile could extinguish hell
Bid demons farewell
Then Ill wear it loud and Ill wear it proud
And Ill never frown again
