Bio

Thru the Ashes is a modern/classic rock project specializing in high energy original/cover dance music that caters to a wide array of tastes and genres. The Troy/Perry, Missouri based Rock group’s intentions are to perform various shows and events in St. Louis, MO; Northeastern sections of Missouri; and areas of Western, Illinois before eventually touring nationally. The band is available to perform a variety of different shows in order to cater to the varying needs of the music industry. This flexibility ranges from and includes 4 hour shows of cover/original music, 45 minute of all original acoustic or electric sets, and 2 hours of cover/original acoustic sets. The band’s goal is not only to have fun at a business that brings much passion to themselves and their fans, but more importantly to bring a very professional production of light and sound to every event.
At this point in the band’s career, the goal is to gain recognition in the areas listed above and abroad through various networking strategies and promotional tools. These strategies include the recording and promoting of a new compact disc which is set to be released by the fall ’09, the free service of downloading our previously recorded and copyrighted acoustic material via various internet music and promotional sites (myspace, garageband, showcaseyourmusic, facebook, and indiecharts, just to name a few), the use of e-mail based fan lists to personally assure that each and every fan and promoter receives timely updates on any advancements of the band including but not limited to show dates in and around their area and progress of new recorded material available for sale or download, the use of various promotional teams (entertainment agencies, street teams, street team myspace pages, internet radio stations, and various other promotional teams and individuals), and the use of fliers and posters to promote shows in the appropriate areas.
The members of the band hold 40+ years of experience in the art of music performance and education. They include Brian Yelton (lead vocals/rhythm guitar); Ronnie Stoops (lead guitar/backing vocals); Rob Trainor (bass/backing vocals); Charlie Turner (percussion/ backing vocals). The individual accomplishments of these members are many but more importantly the team quartet have already far exceeded expectations. With a myspace friends list of over 3100 members and over 14,000 profile views in only 4 months time, the promotional work of all members should be noted and recognized. The requests of many of these friends and fans to play in or around their areas are constantly pouring in nearly everyday. In addition, the acoustic works are soaring to the top of the charts on the indie bands promotional site, garage band. The star ratings are moving to the top of the list on a steady climb and “Dizzy” has received awards including “track of the day” and “best lyrics, week of 10Dec, 2007”.

Here is a quote from www.garageband.com about our song “Evil Seeds”,
ROCK!
YEAH! this is what im talkin' Bout. The lyrics are sharp. Beautiful guitar work. It flows natural just as it should. Vocals are string enough to back up the powerful acoustic sound. Beautiful bridge solo! This is a winner!

Here is a quote from www.garageband.com about our song “Dizzy”,

Acoustic Metallica-ish - Nicely Done!
1 - Vocals: Reminds me of James Hetfield, which, being a longtime fan of the Metallicatz, is a compliment...
2 - Acoustic Guitar: Nice big sound, interesting progression.
3 - Lead Guitar: I felt like the "lead" break started a bit rough around 3:00 or so... Not as smooth a transition as it shoulda been... Partly to do with the rhythmic phrasing clashing in there somewhere, and also the lead licks being somewhat out of key for the rhythm part its soloing over... good feel, but work on creating that sense of harmony that makes great songs great!

I like it! Keep it up - I look forward to hearing more...
